NS Gear Idea - "Lawn Darts"

Darts are underused on the server. To encourage the use of darts, I propose a new high-damage ranged weapon: Lawn darts. Yes, this is whimsical. Double the usual range. Bonus to hit. +2 AB against tiny creatures, +4 against small creatures, +6 against medium creatures, +8 against large creatures, et...

Yes. I'm nothing if not quixotic. ;-P

(I'm used to conversations on IRC spanning days; via email spanning weeks; why shouldn't the web-forum conversations span *years*?)

Besides, darts *are* underused. Hm... that gives me an idea.....

Re: Shot Down and not even by a player....

Ok, It's obevious to me that it is pointless to post on the idea board, being my first and only post has been blaskored out of the water. Whatever, it was just a thought a silly one at that. I guess that what I get for being an ex-eqer. I'll leave the ideas to the ones in the know. Bah. Yah can't t...

Good point.

One for the start, the other for the end, then. :)

A divine realm is an interesting Idea. I m thinking a halls of mount Olympus, with Zeus as a the main boss (with unlimited greater ruin spells for his lightning bolts). Hercules would make a good sub-boss (60th level strength build paladin/cot/ monk with all the stunning fist feats and all the smit...

Re: Gary Gygax

For those who don't know Mr Gary Gygax failed his final saving throw a short time ago and left this moral coil. I think this is an awesome idea, and I don't think anything's been done with this on NS 3.5. How about replacing (or in addition to) the starting character area's sign, we have an NPC for...

Trying to avoid removing a monk advantage w/o an offsetting downside; it becomes a "here, keep up with me" capability for (fast) monks.

(Also, I'm fishing for input from others -- "no, don't do that, do *this* instead" comments.)

Re: NS Gear Idea - "Improved Boots of Speed"

How many would be willing to give up a +4 AC in order to run into walls very fast? On some maps, *me*. Especially after I've been playing a monk for awhile. Normal hasted movement feels like encumbered walking. Also, the other night we were taking someone to LP, and the three of us that were taking...

NS Gear Idea - "Improved Boots of Speed"

aka "Boots of Freaky Monk Speed" After running around with 25 levels of monk, going back to mere haste is ... annoying. So-called "Speed Boots" are virtually useless, as they only confer haste. Why not some "Speed Boots" that actually confer some actual speed... say, +25% (or +33%). Aside from this ...

<chop>

something like
1 Helm of the Dead or
1 Raise Dead Scroll
and
1 Ring of Regeneration or
10 heal potions
and
50 diamonds or
character level * 100k gp

would be more appropriate.
Oh! I like the and/or business.

NS Gear Idea - "Anima Ex Nex"

Suppose an alien grad student was kicked out of Starfall, and set up shop elsewhere, where he makes poor knockoff versions of the Vita Ex Nex, where, instead of resurrections, the device casts 'raise dead' -- thus, "Anima Ex Nex". Since the student was kicked out, no Alien, much less an Alien Scient...

NS Gear Idea - "Cornucopia"

A thought: A cornucopia is a "horn of plenty". A never-ending supply of foodstuffs. If there's a "horn" icon available, how about adding a cornucopia to NS? Have it be a lored item, non-droppable, you get only one of any type. All types should have the same icon (so you can't tell what they are), an...

Re: NS Gear Idea - "Observer"

An Observer set is an interesting idea, but one that I could see being abused too easily. Fair 'nuff. :) I would be interested in your musings about the ways in which it could be abused. I might learn something. What Pros and I have mulled over for a long time is whether a massive overhaul and "dep...

I thought items could have the level at which they cast set.

And does "Hide in Plain Sight" work on NS 3.5?
