I just wanted to correct a small miscalculation with regards to KD and discipline. At higher levels a mage who invests feats into sk focus disc and epic sk focus: disc should have little difficulty resisting most KD except those from fully buffed clerics and div. wrathful CoT.

It seems to me that items with high SR (especially those which surpass the toolset limit, which they would have to in order to be useful at high levels) would make quite a few of the sub-races even more gimped, which may or may not be a good thing.

Well heck. Why not make there be no XP loss on respawn? Just gold loss. "The cost of resurrection." You may find that shields simply are superior when it comes to HtH combat between two fighters. OTOH, dual wielding and two-handed weapons are superior when it comes to killing mages or things for which AC and physical immunitry are useless; such weapons would also be preferable when speed in killin...

Er...well I would hope you could still respawn normally at no penalty at 6+, assuming you were PKed. I guess if you were charged full xp to respawn in place, I wouldn't object too much -- not too certain who would be willing to sit in an enemy territory and lose xp respawning though at higher levels...

That is certainly true. OTOH, if I want to defend my city I shouldn't have to stand around in one place and repeatedly kill someone to keep it secure. :P What if, while standing around the corpse, Joe's friend Zoobaz the mage comes blasting through the gate with an inferno of spells; I've got enough...

An interesting idea, but one that poses (at least) one major problem. When player Joe Schmoe is ransacking your city and you manage to take him down, you can either sit around waiting for him to rise like the phoenix and kill him again (annoying for both of you), or leave him to continue his rampage...

there's a difference between 'defending' your faction in faction terrority(ie your town) and chasing down lvl 5's with your lvl 20+ when they're hunting formians... That was something I was wondering about as well. I can see how a high level would be agitated if he had to allow a mid-level to wande...
