1.75 hours 'til I can make my Eldritch Knight. ECL 0 of course.

Up to 55 kb/s now, is that normal?
Yeah that's quite normal due to your location. The download server is in Los Angeles. Throughput is affected by latency and there's about 209ms of latency between you and the server. The less latency there is, the faster your downloads will go. For example, I live near Seattle and I can download all of the required files in about 15 minutes. There are some solutions such as hosting our files on a CDN (Content Delivery Network) with presence near or in the country in which you reside, but at the moment that is prohibitively expensive for us. However, we are well aware that a lot of Neversummer players are spread out all over the world and we will do our best to limit updates to our HAK and TRX files as much as possible.

Well, 2 hours isn't that long if latter updates are smaller.

One thing that I have noticed is that an ECL 0 character has to kill over 40 monster X to get to level 2, which is prohibitive for most casters. Try it and see.

Also, the war domain is bugged for a level 2 char 1 rogue 1 cleric, it says that you don't meet the pre-reqs for BAB for WF. Grrr. Please fix it :p

The update time was a bit slow, but runs fine minimised while you do other things anyway.

Played for couple of hours tonight on the server and it was good, of course being in Alpha and just opened it was quiet around, saw two other players on.

I play in a dead time zone as well, but yeah looks brilliant, will need to level a bit and do some deeper exploring.

I love the Shards Edge cliff face and the cave just tucked into the side of it though.

Some areas that have really impressed me so far are:

Torrents work on the principal that there will be lots of people downloading and some people seeding the files. I don't think it would work very well for NS5 because we just don't have that large of an audience.

And I bet most of the audience would be leechers

I don't think the download time is to bad really, it can just be minimised watch a movie for 1-2 hours, put it on before you go shopping/to bed/to school/to work etc etc be done by the time you return.

The outdoor areas don't seem so 'tight' in some of the other areas I've been thorugh. And they are gorgeous.

Original download took about 16 min for me. Nice that it's done in game and you don't have to use worldgate separately or download from a site. NWN2 plays slower in general, even single player campaign. I'm using low graphic setting to increase performance with my old comp but still looks very good. Camera is only thing that bugs me, have tried suggestions but camera always snaps back behind char when I move or free camera won't center on char. Trying to anticipate what nasties you'll put into those empty areas. Had to slap myself for not figuring out how to get to the tunnels right away, saw the connection to NS4 after Frog told me where to look.

The SoZ Exploration Mode is quite like NWN1's camera.

Sanctum Arcanum looks great. Can't imagine how many hours it took to build with all those placeables. Path AI sometimes quirky, but sometimes good. Will take you haflway across map if you can click on the spot in areas like Noth Mountains. Fiddled with interface and able to move and control camera better. Still possible to get hung up on corners now and then, but not too often. Feels better the more I explore.
