also I found that harms rarely land until I get about 30 levels of cleric under my belt + epic spell penetration.
That, sir, is why I'm not playing on Midwest - but the rules in my journal on West say that PK and PP are player-enforced, and one of the things that had me quitting NWN before was being in a PvP event on another server, getting little support from my team, and being pegged as "the easy kill" by the other team's 40s.
No way am I putting myself in that position again.
Yeah, been so long I forgot my password. And I don't have access to that email account anymore. Surprised my old ID's still here.
I add to it all the time, in fact, some time soon I am going to include my cleric build. I of course encourage others to list builds that work well, or okay, here too. So far only one other person has listed a build on the thread, but hopefully people will open up a bit more in the future.
When you are looking at those builds on NWN, take into account that the armor and AB they are taking about are next to meaningless cause they won't stack with gear you will find on NS. On the plus side, the gear you find in NS should be higher than these bonuses anyway.

"Duh, okay," - last words of Grogg, Son of Grogg, as he reached for the Demi-Liches skull.

I assumed the AB on those builds was base, unbuffed, with normal gear - and added the Neversummer +14 and still came out low. I didn't bother with trying to figure AC from work - that's too item-dependent.
Your thread, sir, was exactly what I was looking for. I may warp the monkenstein or dwarven defender builds as they seem to be the best fit for my play style, and I will post the one I complete back on your thread.
Now for an AA build...

As for AC, you can figure the following if you get the best items in the game:
+10 base
+4 haste
+10 armor bonus (Plus whatever the base armor of the armor is)
+9 deflection bonus
+8 natural bonus
+7 dodge (stacks with the dodge bonus to haste and other dodge modifiers like undeaths eternal for spell and epic mage armor, up to +20)
+4-8 tumble bonus
+1-20 Dex bonus (depends on if armor has dex penalty or not and obviously, what your dex is)
+1-20 Wis bonus (depends on what your wisdom bonus is and if you have a monk level or not.
+11 bonus from shield (if you use a shield)
+1 dodge from dodge feat
I think that is it.
But I have been proven wrong before

Okay - thanks to everyone who helped dress Moody Loner, Reloaded last night.
Using the monkenstein build - more or less, the feats are slightly different to allow weapon of choice in warhammer as well - at second level I had a higher AC and AB than I did with the Harbinger build, and I'm twelfth level now.
Probably not going to have quite as many HP, but I should still have comparable AC and AB.

Basically, as of right now, in many peoples opinon and in practial experiance, only the crit range, not the crit modifier, is useful, so taking warhammer might be a disappointment.

Side Note.....working towards a 2-handed weapon on NS isnt really a worthwhile cause....the extra damage it does is almost nil next to the extra damage you could do dual-wielding or the AC bump you would get for using a shield.
Also, the Divine Champion epic build from Bioware site is an exercise in frustration on NS...just a heads up
Solely because it amuses me to do so - and when you get down to it, isn't that what this is all about?
I praise you for sticking to your guns. Your kind of like those people who refuse all gear offered to them cause they want to level the old fashion way. Someday, maybe, they might redo the weapons a bit and it may help you along, but sadly, I have sold out to the strengths of the module a long time ago.

I wouldn't go so far as to refuse gear, and the Moody Loner Stomp (knockdown+hammer+sneak attack) doesn't work much anymore - as most everyone's either knockdown-proof, sneak-attack proof, or both - but an indelible part of my play style is smashing things with a hammer.
What's really going to be funny is when my little elf AA chick does it

See, you get the picture.

With Aesir Robes, Clenched Fist(x2), Enslaved Gauntlets, Flame Helm, Inferno Ring, +9 Ring/Prot, Mountain Belt, Moradin Boots, Giant Cloak, and Elemental Chains (did I forget anything?) Also has Gifted Soul Robes and G1 Gauntlets - but the above is my LP configuration.
Anyway, with that I have an AC 71 and my best AB is 57 or 58. Might top out at 75 AC 60 AB before G1/NS gear.
No idea what the AC/AB is with Warhammer yet.

MY STR based melee has 61 ac, and I can solo just about any EC dungeon without any summons or anything, and no I am not a dwarven defender or anything. I guess it's all on preference. I don't think AC is as important to a STR build as other stats, such as your ab and damage, as well as your CON. As for items, I am finding a balance of resists/immune/soak items that works well instead of high ac only items. The only big advantage to a shield is the extra defense it gives me, whether it's the high DR from the Ice Shield, or the elemental resists from the hyborean shield.
When you think about it, alot of the higher level enemies will have 70-100 AB, so your 70ish ac on a STR build doesn't really matter. You are still being hit, and the only enemies that can hit you are the kind you don't even need to worry about.
