Ranger and Druid companions

Post by Anonymous_ns3 »

From level 1-20, you get these companions that are more balanced for the level of high magical level of play in NS, but as soon as you turn level 21, you get a default one, that dies in one hit vs any common monster. Are they ever going to upgrade epic level companions? I feel as though the people who made this care about some classes more than others. Seems no one cares about Rangers these days....

Guest, what you fail to realize is that we are doing everything we can to better NeverSummer.... We have to take things one step at a time and we obviously cant have everything done right now. The first step was to add new areas and items for the server which is just about done. Now we can look into our Long list of other mods to the server. To answer your question.... Yes we know about the companions and it is on our list of things to do.

Like Cryodog has said, Pros and I are always working on something to better Neversummer. The past six months has seen an unprecedented revamping not seen since Pros brought NS3 back with NS3.5 and the EC areas. Buffing up the summons is on the list of things to do, but if you knew how labor intensive the redesign has been, you'll realize how far down the list the summonses are...

Suffice it to say, we're thinking about this. Your statement "Seems no one cares about Rangers these days..." shows that you have not explored the revamps very much. The Enchanted Forest was completely redesigned with Rangers and Druids in mind, and there is a custom summons there specifically for Rangers.

Pros and I have put lots of work into the mod, and there are obviously lots of things to do to better the mod. However, we have real lives, jobs, families, and other responsibilities outside of the free time we spend developing Neversummer. Please remember that.

I give the DEVs crap at times for not getting on the ball, and working day and night to make me, er, I mean us, happy

Seriously though, Fang is correct, if you are new to NS, in the last 6 months, they have added all of the EC areas, Starfall, Enslaved (Mithril Mines) Bucaneers'S Den and Twilight Areas and revamped the hell out of the modules older areas.

So politely request better companions and hope they get to it before the STR build upgrade :P

PS I can neither confirm nor deny that Pros has a sense of humor, but Fang seems to take a good ribbing 8)

You guys are the best, now get back to work :P

Tell me about it.

I quit NS two, nearly three years ago. I reinstalled NWN recently and came back, and the changes are nearly indescribable - so much so that I'm back to being a n00b.

I am consistently amazed by the level of improvement and expansion that has gone into NS - which was not a small, simple mod to begin with. I literally cannot imagine the scripting that has gone into this.

Tell you what, if you think something isn't being developed fast enough, bust out the tools and write some scripts. See if the devs can use some help.

Oh, and devs, thanks for sticking with 3 and not forcing me into a faction. That was the biggest reason I left.
Yeah, been so long I forgot my password. And I don't have access to that email account anymore. Surprised my old ID's still here.
