3 sub-rounds: 2 attacks in the first, 2 attacks in the second, and 1 attack in the last. Just bash a door sometime and it's pretty apparent.

I believe it's always broken into 3 sub-rounds, but I could be wrong about that.

Okay, so in theory, if you parry the first, epic dodge the second, then parry the first of the 2nd sub round, then hope they miss your high AC, then parry the first attack from the 3rd sub round, right?

Out of 5 attacks, you would parry 3 and only get a chance to counter attack 3 of them, right?

if you have haste/flurry/rapid shot/divine power the extra attacks go into the first sub round from what I've seen. my dual kama monk seems to do something like 4/4/2, with only 3 attacks animated per subround (though phantom damage does float up from the other attacks.)

Yay, I'm home from work!

If you have 5 attacks, you get three sets of attacks grouped like 2-2-1. If you have 10, you'd get 4-3-3.

I'm not sure, but Epic Dodge might fire before parry (since they have to hit you for parry to kick in). Feel free to test it.

Basically for all the effort you put into parrying, you end up maybe negating a couple attacks while generally dealing no damage back. It might work okay as a pure meatshield, but generally the ones that it should benefit the most are the ones it helps the least.

No clue about Creeping Doom. I don't deal with Clerics or Druids.

Oh, I'm an arrogant snob because I know everything.

Wrong. Parry fires at attacks against you, they don't have to hit. It calculates parry before it looks at AC.

:P
The only thing that stops you from parrying an attack is if you have concealment and they miss the attack because of the concealment.

Oh you act like it wasn't contradictory on purpose.

Old age . . . you're right. I do have that 23rd birthday coming up. I feel so ancient!

Just remember, you aren't old until you hit 30. That is, until I'm close to 30, then it becomes 40. And females are always exempt from that rule. But that's because they're always in the 21-30 range regardless of age. ;)

Unless they're mean to me, of course.
