Instructions for getting the elemental rune

Has anyone else noticed that Ank in CiC doesn't tell you how to get the elemental rune until you already have it?

That's "one of those things" that has been a part of Neversummer for so long that we've never really thought about fixing it...

Actually, my main gripe is that you have to choose the first then second option after getting the rune. If the "Shut up, just let me shop" option was first in the second dialogue, I'd be happy.
