Dice Bags
Prehaps if there is enough intrest the DEVS can make Dice Bags so players can roll for loot, instead of bashing the loot bag on the ground. Its kind of a fun and fair way after a very big run and lots are wanting the same item

Well I got a few answers, not what I was looking for. Many reasons given or thots, from I never roll, to I never make it to the end of the run, to Civilized People. Think I was in one of the earliest guilds on Pac (OBH)with DrakhanValane, could be wrong tho before I shipped out to Iraq. Well anyhow, the dice bags are a good idea.. And they are alot easier to read then trying to look at bashed bags per person.

Get out of the rolling circle of death!
It can be tough coming up in the ranks to get your hands on great gear. Some helpful hints about group play, can enhance the experience, and create tighter bonds between you and other players. (these are things I have done, and done frequently).
1. When I was a lowbie first on NS (around 2.5 years ago) I would frequently party with people who hit gear areas, (I.E. G1, Phoenix, Demented, Ice Queen, etc, etc) I would not have the gear, and needed it. But when asked whether or not I wanted/needed I would forgo my rolling, and let the other more experienced players take it. Eventually they WANT you around, and start doing stuff just to help you out. Trust me this works, plus you get in good, real fast with these NS-Pros and learn some really unique stuff.
2. Learn how to build characters that can farm their own gear. This can be extremely difficult at times, but the learning process is very, very valuable on character building. Ask other pros how to create a character that can farm their own stuff. Alot of times, these 'pros' will want to help you, and take you on a quest to get the items you need.
3. Don't beg/bug NS 'pros' all the time for hand-outs and freebies. Nobody likes helping these type of players, especially since it seems that the beggars don't stick around long on the server cause they cannot get the instant gratification that they get from the local McDonalds.
4. Look up your friendly local (CN) guild member. We are constantly taking people on gear runs. It is our goal to be the most helpful people/guild on NS.
5. Go on EC runs. I cannot stress this enough. I host 5-10 EC runs every week to help players get their 1st Triton. But often, most of the gear farming comes after the run is over. By doing this you accomplish several things, 1.) Your party-play shows everyone what a great person you are. 2.) You get what you want by helping others get what they want. 3.) It makes the DM's very, very happy that you are so busy staying alive at 'Bridge to Glory' you dont have time to clutter p the 'Shout' channel.
6. Establish the parameters for the quest before hands. People like honesty, state your purpose before you go on a quest with a party you don't know. "Look guys, I really need (insert favorite item here) is there anyway you can help me out with it?" Even if the party is going strictly for that 'NS' Armor, they will try to make arrangements so that everyone is happy.
7. Make a deal. I have taken numerous party's through DWP, because all I wanted was the Sceptor. I would ask before hand, "Hey guys, if the Scepter drops (its a random i think) I won't roll for the armor or helm. Is that OK with you guys?" You wouldnt believe the responses you get by being content with something other than the bestest stuff. Suddenly everybody wants to help you and be your friend.
8. Go for Free. This is one of my favorite things to do. I will go on a quest with people for absolutely no reward than the warm feeling I get from helping somebody else get what they want/need. I am a strong believer in the 'going for free' technique. Now I don't always go for free, we all have needs. But by selecting a group of folks you really get along with, and going for free often enough, you would be amazed at how much gear suddenly falls at your feet. Play the game for the games sake, not just to get stuff.
9. WORK TOGETHER! There are those solo addicts out there, but realize, this is a 'team' game. It's a heck of a lot more fun getting killed in the Tower of Thorns if you are with friendly people who are working together for a common goal. I have more fun during quests with people than getting frustrated going by myself. This is what NS is all about. The developers and DM's are coming up with harder and harder areas to play, not because they are just being mean, but they want people to work together instead of building uber solo-enthusiasts. It is our dependance on others that makes us human and noble.
10. Finally, don't be a crybaby if you don't get what you want on your first DWP run. Some of us have spent years in this game. I personally played for a year and a half before owning my first set of NS Armor. I went on 10 trips and never won the rolls. So don't play for the reward, that the creatures drop, play cause its fun, and no matter what happens at the 'roll', be able to congratulate the winner, and log off feeling great cause you had fun killing off about 3-hours of time.

I don't remember playing on Pac for any appreciable amount of time. The TC way always seemed to be fighting over loot . . . usually like so: "No, really, take it. I don't want it if you need it more." from each TC member. ^_^
I've never been in a guild other than TC, although I did have a bunch of friends in HuH (which became one of the OBH guilds . . . and I think they're some of the Ewoks over on NS4 now). We were Northies all the way.
Edit: So yeah, I've never rolled because we always agree ahead of time who gets what. On GO runs you were never guaranteed the drop you wanted since it might not drop!

They used to be very nice relative to the other available gear. I wouldn't have asked for more than one, though.
To put one in the Donation Box is blasphemy. Someone needs to shoot you in the back of the head with a harpoon.
