High level PKing of "easy" PCs?

My second day on the server. I've just made 3rd level and Felly appears in the market of Neversummer and slays me, guards, vendors.

Now, I'm going to check the boards again to see the rules on PKing. But I've got to believe that this is not acceptable to the DMs here.

He/she was clearly much higher level ... as a matter of fact two other high level chars were tearing up the place the night before, but didn't attack me.

DM response?

I checked the guidelines. He can't kill shopkeepers, but High Level Evil Chars can squash new players like myself anytime I appear in the open. Do I have that right?

And taunt us using shout so long as they don't swear?

Since it is not allowed, and it did happen, can I count on you DMs to send him an email with a strict warning ... or ban his character please? I don't get the feeling he cares much about authority.

As far as the comandments is read he was not allowed to kill shopkeepers or Elvin but you are fair game and as long as it wasn't where he kept pking u over and over and at your bind point. So build him up and pk him.

Take a hide in the underground and call some other epic chars to hunt him down...

U got one advantage: if u can kill him in ur home town u get xp and a piece of his equipment... that should teach him!

M.C., that player was well within the rules and is allowed to squash a level 1 that gets in his way. It becomes an issue when we find that this players primary purpose in life is to just wander around being a pain to others. This is a PvP world, it does have multiple factions squaring off against each other, you will get squashed on occasion, and thats life.

If I am attacking your city just stay away from my missiles because they don't know who you are and hit every enemy of mine in their range.And as for killing shop keepers that is a lie.I have never killed shop keepers as long as i have been on this server and to whine about pk gah if i whined everytime i been killed well i would take up a whole page.Just try to stay away from Issacs and i'll try and persuade Issac's to stay away from you.

I simply posted and asked a question. I was told by a DM that this was NOT allowed.

Now everyone is posting that it IS allowed. Someone needs to make up their mind. There was NO whining in my post. I have no problem getting squashed if that's the rule of the land, but I'm getting conflicting information.

So which is it?

Unless they were specifically hunting you down repeatedly, they did nothing wrong. The only thing that would be illegal is killing the vendors or harrassing tells or shouts.

If killing vendor is such big deal why not make em rooted / unkillable? They would then jsut serve as vendors.
