Just wondering...

Post by CrazyJ »

...can DMs target PCs (or NPCs) and fire shapeshifting scripts on them?

On another server in the past, I was shapeshifted by a DM into a werewolf. *shrug* Unsure.

That's a good enough answer for this thread I believe. If it could be done, doubtless Chase would have done so already... :D

There's no default means of doing it inherent in the game, since all polymorphing scripts are caster-targeted or controlled via feats. Which isn't to say a wand or other scripted solution could be created to do so, but we don't have one like that right now in NS4. Probably.

Just a thought. Could be fun.

Why don't we have werewolves, anyway?

Cool enough, but what about a werewolf subrace? Apply them to half elves, and you're on to something interesting. Give them a token that gives them the shapechange ability and some stat buffs while in wolf form.

And have the token upgrade at various levels... lesser werewolf, werewolf, greater werewolf, and at 30+ royal werewolf.

Various amounts of STR/CON/DEX bonuses, plus regen, minor magic/fire/cold resists, and maybe a bit of damage soaks (scaling up the +x weapon that can penetrate it as you level) for the higher ones.

I like it.

I can do it via leto or a scripted npc.

Could make a wand but it would have to relog you to apply it.

Er wait we used to have a wand that turned players into penguins so yea. it has to be scripted.
