the 2's and 4's stack to give you a max upgrade of 4...thats the most it goes to

No. They improve though. Say you use a +2 Charisma book. You now have a +2 to your base Charisma. Then you use a +4 Charisma book, your Charisma only increases by +2 this time but you have a total increase of +4.

Edit: Hey I thought there were very rare +6 books, or this just a myth?

There aren't any right now, and we don't have them in the works. But any amount is possible in theory through the magic of LETO... there's no limit beyond what we need for balance.

no, but i was told if you use a +4 book ti will overwrite a +2 book

Is it possible to see permanent stat benefits/penalties for subraces now?

obviously your not paying attention jester. subrace bonuses/decreases are set to your base now using a Leto script. instead of being that nasty little green/red number, they are now permanent and do not add towards you +12 enhancements as they did in the past.

no matter how many books you use your ability score will only increase to +4 above what it should be.

They are incremental, +2 for a +2, +2 from a +4 used on top of a +2. So to answer your question,no they don't stack.

I'm looking forward to playing a subrace now.

Wonder if svirf's get the ac bonus to their dodge rather than deflection now...

Gonna have to go take a look.

I believe the svirfs ac is still deflection but the githzerai's ac is now dodge.

no, only githzerai ac is fixed, svirf is still broken.
but their concealment ability has been buffed. subraces are quite awesome now.
