Relics shouldnt be aloud in any tunnels whatsoever. I dont mind the RK or NC/TC tunnel, but i do think it against the basic guidelines of the relic game that one can take a relic where others cant follow. It defeats the purpose of the game if one has an unfair advantage.

Really i wish this was changed. Let RK keep the tunnel, but do not allow relics to enter it.

Otherwise relics should be boat friendly. You cant have one faction that has a secret transport strait to their main compound and not allow all factions the same privlige.

If you pole the player base the only ones who think the tunnels should be relic friendly are those in RK and their allies. The solutions seems a bit obvious to me.

**Sigh** Hate to get sucked into this same debate again, but the boat friendly argument doesn't apply because dragons were implemented just for that purpose. And a privilege is just that, a privilege and not right. Not all factions have the right to a tunnel like the RK, not all factions have the right to all races, not all factions have the right to specific PrC, etc. etc.

Self-explanatory, people that it works against don't want it and the people it works for want it. Just because the tunnels don't work for the majority doesn't mean they should be taken away from the minority.

In my own opinion, transporting relics where others cant follow gives a unfair advantage to those in pursuit. Yes, everyone on this server has use of the dragons and you can pursue that person on dragon, but no one can pursue a rk member that has a relic thru thier special tunnel. No one wants you to get rid of that tunnel but just not to transport a relic thru it. This gives a unfair advantage to all who are in pursuit of a RK member.

OR leave the tunnels relic friendly take away a few of the cave zones that everyone else would have to otherwise run through.

Not as simple. Those tunnels are leveling areas, quest areas (Beetle-related and Queen Beetle), etc.

dont know if it can be scripted as such but how about the relics create a temporary flux in the magic of this cave allowing anyone to use for a short time after a relic has gone through?

Other than the "no relics allowed" approach, this seems the most feasible to me.

Of course, I'd rather just see the tunnels not accept relics, but hey. That's just me. :D

Bah... the flux idea will just add lag to the server with more scripts running, why not just disallow anyone with a relic to pass through? Now that it IS an issue, it should really be switched.

Besides, when there is an equal amount of resistance and assault on any given relic, it's the high lvl monks that get away with it even if their buddies fall, and they can run so fast so who cares if they have to walk thru a few more caves - it just makes is a bit more fair to everyone else.

This is certainly not about fairness, else all factions would look alike and have the same classes and prestige cl. possibilities. I never saw NWN as a struggle to balance; more as a challenge.

As said, relics aren't needed to lvl up. They are just a PVP addition.
And the Pech tunnels are now part of the advantages RK has. On the other hand they can't reach as easily the Frozen Realms, to raid Sleeth e.g. &c. Certainly Neversummer has other disadvantages too, but so what?
I think the Devs have other problems atm, as listening to this superfluous lamenting. A thread who should be closed imo, as ALL has already been said in the other thread...

not that i'm taking sides or anything, but Kirg...there are 2 "tunnels". one comes out in black hills and the other comes out next to sleeth on the wyrm road.


these tunnels aren't in a literal sense tunnels...but they are more like instant doorways you hit on one side and appear on the other.

just because somebody complains doesn't mean it is broken. about half of the time i raid i face a 3 or 4 on 1... and my comp doesn't load transitions as fast as others so i can't keep my lead in running.... so if i get to the pech tunnel i figured i earned it. cry babies.
How much for the orangutan?

somebody already said this, but i will repeat it for people who have a hard time remembering what they read. we are dwarf based... tunnels in mountains/hills makes sense. it is a perk of being in RK. other factions get benefits we don't get. we get no race for AA. we get no Earth Genesai. we get no boat to anywhere. i could keep going but you'd just forget em anyway. crybabies.

I'd say let RK keep its tunnels its an advantage and they deserve one. Speaking of deserved advantages... When does NC get one of these other than the massively large training area that there's nobody to party with in? :P

like i said before the tunnels are fine, just make it so they arent relic friendly.

coral is right. thats their transpo. but other factions cant take their relics on boats, since he pointed out that others have ships as their transportation.

So again they should have it for transportation, just not for relic raiding.
