Yeah, I hit that balor about 6 times yesterday, didn't drop much other than gems/kits when he did drop stuff.

I figured out that it is indeed an artifact. It has a vulnerablility to cold and and extra bonus to slash and fire, which is one of the things I used to do to denote artifacts(side effects or drawbacks).

I've been looking for the light hammer of Justice forever... years have gone by, hasn't dropped yet, since the past server wipe anyhow. Quickfingers rapier, I've found one so far. Just seems like the lvl 20 stuff isn't dropping. Hammer of Thunderbolts or Living Bark, drops all the time.

Its lvl 21 stuff and it only drops on a cr 21+ mob I would suspect. Chests are probably the best chance, or a boss.

Im not sure how the artifact script works these days so no clue what the chances are.

I've never seen Armor of the Cimmerian drop either for that matter. Really starting to wonder how much of the stuff on the wiki exists ingame post-updates/changes.

There are a lot of artifact items that exist that are rarely seen. I found a nature's reaper in skara not too long ago, which I had never seen in all my time here. There are some artifacts on the TSS and FoN guild mules that I hardly knew existed. It does seem that level 20 artifacts are particularly rare though.

There are a few items on the wiki that no longer exist. Ring of shadows is one, that was removed for being too powerful. There are a few items that are bugged and won't drop unless they are spawned as unique items. The merfolk highlord dropped a unique highlord's whip when I was in sunken a few months ago. No one even knew that item existed before then. I asked about the stalwart shield on the TC/NC forums a while back and no one knew anything about it other than seeing it on the wiki.

It would be nice to put those items in their own section on the wiki or have a disclaimer in the item description (I don't like the idea of deleting them), but it is very hard to know what actually no longer drops and what is just a really rare artifact.

If I ever get back up to speed with the database, maybe we will add some more named artifacts. I think the rarity of the 20s is due to the larger number if them or the lack of cr 20 bosses. I would suspect that those artifacts would drop on every faction city area name npcs or in the lvl 20+ chests.

Been asking around for a month or so.. haven't found anyone that knows where Armor of Darkness drops. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've confirmed that it does indeed exist, and here's a copy/paste of the wiki description/stats:

Found Armor of Darkness in a chest in Sunken about a week ago. So now, it can be found in my inventory...
