i do not know what possesed this to be done but plz correct it. it only shifts once a day and unlike shifters or druids he can only shift once....ONCE a day. There are no summons, no pets, nothing but a lot of luck, some skill and a lot of help form others to get your dragon to level 40 thirty hard rdd levels. Anytime you spend that much effort to build a toon let alone a prestidge toon. ITS suppose to be speacial, this is a crippling blow that is not only a low blow, but unwarnted attack on Ao's champions. PLEASE FIX THIS MESS,STOP messing with stuff thats NOT BROKE ! Give us some job tokens to work with that do something worthwhile !
i don't know where u were going with this idea but its really not fair to do in rdd dragons and then not make it an across the board cut form what we have seen shifter dragons have new dragons shifts, i think with their alinement, but its ability points are not effected as the rdd are, so visiously slashed. its like watching someone scratch his car in a parking lot and become so enraged that he just backs up and slams his own car into a pole or truck or something hard enough several more times to crush the front end and driveshaft. FIX the dragons .....

RDD dragons were a bit over the top, as the CoT were ie. Altho I agree that they shouldn't be crippled either.

Re: Linux, my dragon sux now, fix it!
As a shifter, my red dragon shape (before lvl 35) got its dex lowered by 10, is this the 'visiously slashed' ?
Besides that it looks like mostly a graphic change on the other dragon shapes, ofc the new shapes look good

What exactly changed. The changelog is extremely vague.

Well looking at just the obvious. . . AB is still there, HPs are still there. . . AC is lowered by 5. Thats all I noticed, didnt check DRs or anything though. I can still get over 70 AB with my dragon for the first run about, then with a bard around still over 60 or about 65 with a bard and ava (I run a low BAB non-monk RDD). AC lowered by 5 means a monk/rdd could still pull about 80 AC without imp expertise.
I would say its not a bad change, if you disagree sorry but look what they did to CoTs (considering AB from dragon is str. . . CoT can nearly hit AB cap with 1 ability once a day then poof goes the power some rounds later).

Yeah the AC drop cant be that bad for the RDD dragons, since they get the AC from being RDD, you'd still end up with a red dragon that has higher AC than the shifter red dragon had before the changes. And for the shifter red dragon now, its not as bad since they can still use the other colors for decent AC.

Re: Linux, my dragon sux now, fix it!
The break down is as follows: Ok if you remove all gear from your toon, shift into dragon shape, A RDD dragon stats read like this: Str 61, Dex 16 Con 28 These ability scores are the only ones that change between shifting. On my RDD unshifted with no gear is: Str 14, Dex 25, Con 12. With Gear on my unshifted stats are Str 20, Dex 33, Con 20. Shifted with gear it is Str 67, Dex 24, Con 36. This is a HUGE loss for a Dragon. The only job an RDD can do is tank, and the way i understood it was supposed that the 30 RDD was supposed to be special, I believe Metis put in the Dragon shape as an incentive to have a really mean dragon, so the then players of AO would start to build more then just 10 RDD levels per build, my pure fighter can get a higher AC then my RDD now. Making a 30 RDD is hard, they have the worst AB ever, I would rather all my teeth pulled without novicane then to make another 30 RDD thats how miserable I was building mine, after level 28 I couldnt hit anything on the server until I got my dragon shape. So if you say the RDD was way over powered, I have to disagree, 30 lvls of PM get a really cool summon not to mention the good ac. 30 lvls of Dwarven Defender is really nice with all the DR, A 30 RDD should be better then any other Dragon there is because its specialized into that one form of a tank where as, A druid can shift into shapes as well as cast spells, Most RDD's cant cast spells of if they do they are easily dispelled because the lack of caster levels beyond level 10. A shifter has many other shape they can choose from which are still very powerful, not to mention both classes can shift alot more then the one shift a RDD gets. So if you want to take down some of the Dex on the RDD its not really needed, its a prestige class, it was the reason to go beyond just 10 levels of RDD, to stick out the pain of leveling for a really cool specialized form. A 30 RDD is easliy beatable, and i have been beaten many times from people who know what they are doing. If people who dont know what they are doing need to have things nerfed how is that fun for anyone? How is penalizing a class so the less intellegent people have the chance of winning help them? If the Dex has to be dropped on an RDD at least let us keep our DEX with Modifier when we shift. Why are we still having so many changes when AO still has no jobs? We are supposed to compete with everyone evenly, but they have nice tokens, that give them all sorts of bonuses while we get nothing. This is my two cents, I would like to see some, if not all the dex return on the RDD dragonshape

I've never made one and this is the first time I've seen the stats published (if there's a link and someone can post it, great), so bear with me ... you get +47 str, +16 con, -9 dex, + giant sized KD, + pretty nice breath weapon, + did I miss anything? Is the current change the drop in dex, thus impacting AC? I feel your pain, but it still seems pretty special.

I agree with Tep, so far I've only seen small pieces of feedback.Amoenotep wrote:real feedback is appreciated not just "you guys made my toon suck" feedback
If I was going to feedback to the staff, I'd show the full stats of a toon. What it was like before, and what it was after a revamp. This would include things like str, dex, con, ac, ab, attacks/rd, discipline, etc. That way the staff can actually see what needs fixing, and what doesn't.

Ok, I hate to do it but here it is.
If you don’t like leveling it 30 levels and it’s so hard or so slow, then don’t Meta game.
OMG did he just say that?....
Make a build that is fun to play, change the stats around so you can hit something before you get your dragon shape. You don’t have to build for 40 folks. So what if you lose 4 ab or 5 ac when you hit 40 because you changed the build to make it fun to play.
NS4 is about the build yes. However it’s also about equality between factions. IF folks would play for fun and make their builds fun to play and not an experience that you would "rather have your teeth pulled with no Novocain" then it wouldn’t be so great at 40 and you would never have to worry about it getting nerfed.
I personally had designed a RDD dragon build and the feedback I got on it was something like, "All the strength is going to be useless at 40 and this and that and this other stuff will be useless as well." Yeah I know it won’t mean anything at 40, however it sure will make it easier and a much more enjoyable experience to play.
Anyway my 2 cents.
Oh and.....
Ghostly-
That hole thing about posting all the stat's and skill's and such so the staff knows what needs changing.... I personaly would think that knowledge would already be known before any changes were ever made. Although I understand the luxury of having a player base willing to freely give that information after a change has been made. That being said, I am more than willing to give you an hour tonight or friday if you want to throw xp on a toon so I can screen shot and provide every bit of info the staff folks might need to have.

Those RDD dragons were always a bit over the top. I understand that it takes a lot of work to build them, but with huge stunning fists, massive amounts of hit points, plenty of damage per hit, blinding speed, a high DC and high damage breath weapon, and good saves, evasion, plenty of discipline, a decently high dc fear aura, the AC you could get out of them was a just little much. In my experiences against them, they were able to last so long in battle that most builds can't even come anywhere near killing them before being stunned and beaten to death, and that is only if they can get past the fear aura.
Even with 5 less AC, I don't think they are suddenly going to be dropping like flies in battle any time soon.
Oh, and I'm not sure being difficult to level gives the rights to having a super-powered build, you could easily make a RDD dragon that isn't difficult to level, but you would have to sacrifice something, most likely stunning fist, blinding speed or both, and it is not like there is some RDD rule saying that both these feats are required to make a RDD dragon, it is just possible to have both, so people do it.

Important stat: AC
What was it before and after? If what Korr says is right, this didn't really hurt them much at all... they were over-the-top... now more in line. I heard stories of 85+ AC while still having great AB... sorry that's doomed to get nerfed.
Changed the druid dragon forms to be neutral types... Copper, Brass, and Iron dragon forms... although I haven't changed their portrait yet (that's a bug). There's no reason a TC druid should be able to be an Ancient Red Dragon... that's an AO-only form now.
