The way I see it is they crashed or they decided that they could not win so they admit defeat by logging off saving you the trouble of killing them.

If there was a way to dertermine the rare crash from the commonly seen battle log, then a 30 minute pvp ban would be in order, as if you had changed toons.

I lagged out once while someone was attacking me. Imagine how hard it was for me to convince them it wasn't on purpose. I don't remember who it was, but they think I am a sissy now. :(

Take your licks and learn from 'em. Even the easiest kills/deaths can have a lesson if you look for it hard enough.

The difference between a crash and a battlelog can be pretty simple to tell. If you crash, you just stand there doing nothing for about 20 seconds. If you battle log, you're gone right away.
I have always imagined that when shamed prepares for relic events, he grabs his bull horn, he finds his Napoleon hat, and he settles in for a weekend of barking orders and generally pissing off everyone in the tc/nc coalition. - Burrahobbit

You attack automatically often even if you're crashed.

Its become the new "anti-bigby/anti-stun". A few members of the community are now logging out for a few seconds when they are incapacitated and then log back in and start attacking again. I agree with shamed, its pretty easy to tell when its a crash and when its a logger, although hard to show in screenshots.

I don't really care about it that much, just curious what the DM position on this is.

i would delevel the offensive logger's higher toon to half the logged character's level..

Example:

lvl 20 combat logs, logs in lvl 40

lvl 40 gets deleveled to level 10

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!
