i realize you dont want to give everything away and you want to let find out what the spells do for themselves, but there are a few spells that i would like to know about right away

IGMS: please tell me this spell has been nerfed, im tired of the bigbies/missle strom whoring that has been all too common in ns3(although i understand why it is almost necissary for ns3), now dont give me this crap about how, "i want to make the caster class weak and i want to be better than everyone else", cause guess what, im gonna play a wizard! i dont want the entire mod handed to me on a platter via missle storm.

Shield: as far as i know, this spell only blocks magic missle, is it possible to have it block all magic missle based attacks? this would be a key spell for mages to protect their party members with if that could be done.

circle of protection(insert alignment): in PnP this spell can be cast on summons and outsiders as a sort of prison, and also, it remains intact even when the caster leaves the area of effect(i think in NWN the spell disapaites if you move, which is irritating), is it possible to include either of these features in ns4?

All of the spells have been changed for specific purposes in NS4.

As for IGMS, I don't know exactly what has been changed, same for Circle of Protection. I do know, however, that my caster used Shield quite a bit when he was starting out. Not really sure if it helped or not though. :D

how about Shield giving you 5/- res to magic?

*Strongly suspects that Modred will not be playing a wizard and really just wants IGMS nerfed so his uber tank can rock my sorc, given his basic lack on knowledge as to how the spells work* :roll: :lol: J/K

Anyway, I do know that magic resists can be given to mobs, although last I herd no player items will have it. Your shield idea was already discussed on the old boards, but FYI shield is caster only, so no you won't buff your party. Additionally lets assume IGMS is in as bioware, not NS3 (ns3 it has 2d4, not Bio's 2d6). Remeber spell mantle blocks it quite well, additionally SR can stop it rather well. IGMS since the last patch really doesn't work that well in duels or party fights. Especially not in party fights where that damage will be spread across numerous players. I'm sure that IGMS will be in NS4, and function relatively well, since remeber that NS4 mobs can cast it at you too :twisted: .

There is a fairly cool script in the nwvaults that limits IGMS to half it's maximum strike on an individual target. This is a great way to discourage those people who try to place their cursor to isolate a single target for a cast (Not sure whether that is a good thing or not, however).

there are more things than just magic missles that do magic dmg...

and an experienced caster can generally point thier missles at whichever player they want...

Shield has been modified to protect you from Missile Storms as well.
