Killing transport dragons allowed?
Killing transport dragons allowed?
Ive talked about this with a couple peeps in game, i was told it was allowed as a relic raid "defense" tactic. Well, aside from the absolute cheesyness of that, what about the other players who had nothing to do with the raid either way? Not fair to them to suffer in game because of something they wernt involved in.
And since killing the dragons dont stop raiding (just slow it down) i dont see the point in allowing this to be allowed. Any input on the subject, peeps?

the dragons are NOT needed to travel..remember when you used to have to walk every were? try it.
the dragons death does NOT stop you from playing the game..it just gives lazy people a reason to clutter the forums with complaints.

Yer abosolutely right chase. While we're at it, lets take out the relics all together, since they arnt vital to the game play. Oh, and Prc's, and the ferry system (save for sunken and frostdale)
Those are all convience's and bonus's anyways, right?
The dragons are there for a REASON. To help players move around faster and better explore the world that we play in. Most of us dont have the free time to trudge everywhere on foot to get to where we want to be.
"being lazy" has nothing to do with it. Its more a matter of respect to the player's time constraints. I just think that since the dragons are used for more then just raid-transports, they should be off limits to killing just to stop the raid. (and as we both say, them being dead dosnt stop the raid, just makes it take longer. And now somebody who just needed to travel to a dragon stop is out of luck because of a raid)

Killing dragons is allowed... it might be in bad blood, but bad blood isn't against the rules. If killing something made it actually impossible to get to a place, it wouldn't be OK (hence no killing ferrymen, since it makes it 100% impossible to get to either Sunken or Frostdale), but a dead dragon just means hoofing it over land for a while.
We tend to be a legalistic bunch, and the rules exist in response to observed problems. If there's no commandment about, feel free to do it until a commandment gets written prohibiting it... with this in mind, I suppose it's about time I got about to compiling an updated version of the commandments to make sure nothing's been lost in the mix.

Killing the dragons forces people to learn the maps and explore different areas. I always promoted this idea, and I was actually on the receiving end of it during a recent relic raid. The Ave dragon was dead, and I realized that I couldn't remember my way back to Garagoth.. how sad, but rather funny. Many people have no idea of the great areas seldom ventured to, and only know of those around the dragon areas. Now by killing the dragon in Ave the guards are permanently hostile to you, and they are tough little buggers. I would not be opposed to putting guards at every dragon location. They can be considered hired mercenaries or something. All I can say for now is enjoy the opportunity given to you to take a nice long walk and enjoy the maps in between while the dragons are butchered for their part in the relic wars.
