Knock changes
Re: Knock changes
yes , i thought i would call it a FIX as opposed to a nerf becasue all that was done was to fix it so it is the way it should be

Re: Knock changes
well..it was a fix to a fix that was supposed to have been fixed a long time ago....
but still a nice fix
but still a nice fix

Re: Knock changes
yeah at first i thought the 'fix' was a locked thing apocalypse, but with some adjustments any dex based character with the right tools can make a go of it, especially with bard song.
my only complaint is that the fix was put in a few days AFTER i made an optional skill dump on my last character.. had i known i would have gone for pick lock instead lol.

Re: Knock changes
A Dex-based level 30 bard could open DC 70 locks with ease, if my math and memory serve me right:
Take 20
+7 from gloves
+10 from rings
+14 from song
+6 from lockpick
+12 from DEX
+1 from the bare minimum 2 points into Open Lock
A level 30 Trickery cleric, assuming a DEX of 10, would need 24 points into Open Lock (a +2 INT book at level 10 would net you 30 points).
Opening locks with rogues just seems easy what with Open Lock being a class skill and rogues getting so many skill points to spend.
