Elemental Swarm workings...

How does Elemental Swarm work exactly?
Does it summon more and better summons than Summon IX?
or
Does it summon more but inferior summons compared to Summon IX?

Elemental Swarm will only summon greater elementals (summon creature VIII) and spell focus in conjuration didn't seem to improve them. The spell gives you four elementals (air, fire, water, earth) one at a time, when one dies the next spawns at your side. They make a good meatshield but do little else although the duration of the spell lasts for ages.

Summon creature IX summons an elder elemental for a much shorter duration and with spell focus conjuration can actually help a bit. This is true of course as long as you don't summon a water elemental which is about as useful as wet paper.

Sounds like Elemental Swarm is using some of the stock Bio script. Lokey, TBD?

Just make the Elemental Swarm summon creatures that are equivalent to Summon IX creatures and everything would be cool.
