mega bursts in the planes are random and deadly.
blood amniotes split when thier auras do a certain amount of damage..not just to 1 person, but just a certain amount. which pretty much means the more ppl you get around the same one the faster it will multiply.
not sure on the double spawns/mega spawns

True, but the 'random' thing.... I know about probability, so the chances that the SAME toon (and their undead summons) would be randomly hit by a mega burst -3- times within 20 minutes when the other member of the 2-person party was not touched all 3 times, just seems a bit 'off' to me... (I'm just thinking something was attracting the megabursts to the one toon+summon maybe undead summons are considered lightning rods in the plane of air?Amoenotep wrote:mega bursts in the planes are random and deadly.

Sure, with 'random' it's possible, but 3 times so close together, to the same toon is not very likely to happen! Oh well, keeps things interesting anyhow, and discourages people from soloing ;].

I've never had any lag or super Zon spawns either. And, like Celorn, I leveled there recently and received about as much lag as everyone else. What I have noticed, however, is if I exit a map that I have not fought in and re-enter, I have seen instances where the number of monsters spawned increased/decreased by a little or a lot. This is not restricted to the Zons though.
Celorn is correct about party size affecting the Blood Amniotes. We did a test with a DM where you could easily solo one Blood Amniote but throw in summons and a full party and they start multiplying quickly. As for the sudden burst of them I believe they do a little bit of damage when they first split so if enough people are around them when they pop then they split again immediatly. From what we were told this was intentional as is the random elemental damage that can take out a whole party in the elemental planes. In dragon from with over 1k HP I was able to survive a blast that took out the other 5 members of our party. We had just buffed while we were in the Positive Plane and then suddenly everybody was dead from a stack of Positive Damage effects. It happens often enough to be wary of it.
As for Zons, I have seen a few Ritualist helms still drop but they are rare. It seems they have fixed the Storm Kama to drop more often but the Ritualist gear is hard to come by. I have seen the double spawn problem happen before but only after relogging a character in an area and letting the area respawn by logging back in. I have seen double bosses in Epic Dwarves occur because of this as well. I am sure it has something to do with the fixing of broken areas and I feel it is a small price to pay for not having broken maps everywhere.

And here it comes again: turn off the sound in the nwconfig and only there... This will make the barbs shut down and your comp run smoothly. Must be like the 7th time I tell this... Although it doesn't work for everybody, so, don't expect a miracle

sound... now that makes sense, but i wonder what specific setting causes it? I will have to experiment next time i'm there, my desktop was lagging like crazy last time yet my laptop at the very same time was lag-free.
in the sound options, there are around 8? different choices for sound engine, and then there's 'use hardware' and eax, etc... so possibly a tweak there can resolve the issue. Maybe I'll play with it when I have time and post my findings.
