Items not seen in NS4
Re: Items not seen in NS4
And now back to our original topic...
Can we get some variety in the boxes that drop.

I put the IO in socIOpath!

I agree that would be cool.

Re: Items not seen in NS4
Personally I would love to see Quarterstaves get something to make them more usefull. Some kind of modification to give them extra attacks like a Double Weapon or let monks get thier extra attacks with them. Not sure if either of these are doable but if not giving them something unique like extra AC or DR or extra Parry skill might make somebody actually consider making a Quarterstaff build.

Re: Items not seen in NS4
I would love to make the musketeer build but parry is FUBAR here, or maybe in NWN in general.

Re: Items not seen in NS4
if i understand correctly parry is ok if you can get your parry skill higher than your ac. this can be problematic since parry is dex based, so you're generally going to have a good ac anyway. dunno if theres enough parry gear to make a str parry build fly.
you also have to be ok with the fact that it will not work on every attack (i think it will kick in maximum 3 times per round). some people see that as hopelessly gimped, and yet we could say the same for improved invis (with blindfiight it cuts your incoming attacks only 25%). yet it's still damage mitigation, and you do get up to 3 counterattacks at full ab.
i havent checked the availability of parry gear but if you can chain together enough goods to get into the 60-70 parry range you could have a tank mode worth considering over improved expertise in certain situations.

Re: Items not seen in NS4
One of the problems with parry as then when you run up to fight in parry mode and dont swing at monsters . . . they dont attack you, so you have nothing to parry.
Parry isnt ALL bad though, yes you get 1 parry per section (of 3 sections) of the combat round . . . but that is also per monster.
So a monk TWF with 9 attacks a round(no flurry and parry) can parry up to 3 attacks per 3 monsters per round. Which allows things like reposite attacks 9 times per round . . . but on 3 different monsters youll be hard pressed to kill them.
On a cooler note, its a great use for circle kick (which should work a lil better now with the combat orientations) to reposite attack and hit and get another free hit ';)
