I am all for different things on the server, balls from hell are no exception. With that said maybe the hellball/karaoke(same thing in my mind) machine can be ratcheted down to what the new harm seems to do big damage followed by lesser damage as time goes on.

while i haven't seen them it sounds like a fair idea, if gone a bit awry. right now when relic raiding you run like stink back to your home city, but that doesn't make it any easier, because the dozens of friendlies around are no help whatsoever against epic adventurers.

friendly, tough, NPC defence/defenderss would tip the balance in favour of the defending PCs, and would make the relic game a bit less fluid. personally i think this would be positive as right now it seems that waiting until no one is on and snatching is by far the most effective tactic, which seems a bit silly.

I havn't been on in a couple of days, so I havn't seen these. As someone who can get killed by just about everything, I love this idea. It would only be better if I could make one with the Craft Trap skill.

i can't believe this is at 4 pages...hehe.

i like flailers lever idead, we should look into this immediately.

i'm sorry if snatching relics out of the cradle was a little more difficult with the chance of dying than just running in and running home for a quick reward.

As I have said "I" didn't mind the challenge and with a bit of help we did manage to dispatch the one that was killing AO Lowbies. Even if I did die while trying to raid another cradle I was picking up tactics on how to defeat them. However, if the DMs had still been around to see what it was doing to the players that didn't have a clue, they may have actually realized thier mistake and at least offered raises or moved the ones that killed individuals several times because of proximity to spawn points. That is all I am really commenting on here so that new players don't get discouraged right off the bat or find themselves in an unbeatable situation. Most of them don't have a voice here in these forums so I choose to be a voice for them since I witnessed what was happening to them. I figured the DMs would actually want feedback on the new toys they brought upon the world instead of getting defensive about thier actions. I understand that the devices are being worked on so I will drop the rant here and move on.

BTW Flailer, I believe it's been done before... I seem to remember Llolth striking the whole server down at least once before in a battle between the gods...

Last reply :)
They would be great if they didn't attack you in your own cradle and made you loose xp when you die. (you can't be ressed while in the range of those things, I've tried more then once)
Maybe make them also a bit more noticable so you actually see them before it's too late. :?:

Yes, the big problem is that these cause XP loss.

Wow Jester...ya might wanna read before responding...lol...the point...and really the only point was that when they are placed near a spawn point...lowbies have no choice in the matter..they couldn't stay away from them. and no DM was around to help them by either porting, rezing, or stopping the catapult...so the new toons couldnt move on and logged. Again that was the only point really being addressed. No other flames necessary.

Hmmm... was that gasoline I smelled being poured on the flame? Jester knows I meant no disrespect to him, he's not so ultra sensitive.
