I don't know if this is practical to upgrade but i have some suggestions...
Reduce dialog requirements to transactions to reduce lag effects. For example if you spoke to a trader and opened a chest to sell or identify then then you should not need to have the same dialog when you talk to the trader again, can't he just look for your trading box and determin if everything in the box is unidentified then id it else sell it. if the box is empty ask the player what they want to do again

on Speaking to trader
If chest is empty then original dialogue
else if first item in Chest is not Identified = ID chest
else Sell all in the chest
Maybe there could be an option with the trader to identify everything I am holding (like the journel) without having to put it into the chest ? that would be cool !
