Being part of the 70% of the server population without a good way to bypass locks, I've had to bash 3 of these open.... all three times I have received ZILCH.

How about making the contents not disappear quite so much... it's quite unfair to reward only the rogues, bards, and mages for defeating the hard bosses.

Or maybe it brings rogues and bards back into relavance by allowing them to have a desirable skill? Lord knows rogues are hurtin' with how much is immune to sneaks already...

Then help rogues directly instead of screwing over the rest of the server when we can't find a party.

One single char type was not meant to be able to do everything. There's also many doors that you need lockpicking skill to get through - is that wrong too? Or some creatures that are resistant to certain kinds of damage - is that bad? I'm sorry you've come up empty 3 times - it's set to 50/50 chance of spawning something (and when it does spawn if you've bashed it, it spawns at a lower level), but perhaps you could build a rogue if you want to (in theory) have access to better loot?

I'm actually in favor of these chests. Problem is, rarely find much more than gem in gold in them. If you bash a planar chest, you shouldn't be expecting a world of riches. These chests, no matter how small, are one of the few saving graces of rogues in the planes. If anything, they deserve a bit of a boost in drops.

Agreed. It's one of the few forms of love the rogues get, and I'm all for boosting it.

a major class wizzie can knock 'em open, and disable the trap, and kill what's guarding it.

also a multiclass wizzie + a multiclass rogue = very good OL roll.

If the contents spawn at a lower level, and it's a level 25 chest, then that means there's never going to be any gear after a bash, since there isn't any generic level 20 gear.

thats probley true, maybe you should make a thief instead of crying on the boards about how unfair it is your build isnt smart enough to pick a lock.

Such powerful items in the chest... crazy how they get wrecked when the chest is bashed open...

Have never had a problem using Knock.
