I think attacks are hard-coded iirc, but this would be pretty flippin' sweet. For pure rangers, how about something that can beef up the animal the ranger just used "animal empathy" on? It would scale up from 20, so that a level 21 pure ranger could use thier ability on an animal and increase its stats /level/AC/AB by X amount. Then, even the "weakest" type animals can take care of pre-epic annoyances.
Or maybe an entagle ability with a DC=level + wis bonus, but with a result of slowing the person if they are within the area of effect (and only within a forest area). Nature aids the ranger against his foes.

I love the true seeing idea in wilderness areas for pure rangers, as well as implementing the Animal Companion once again for rangers.

How about some sort of use per/day ability that grants the ranger constant critical hits on their enemies while using their two weapon attacks and with bows as well - After mastering their survival skills in the wilderness, the ranger has come to understand fully the critical points that are present in the enemy and use them to his/her advantage.

Heres an idea for a great pure Ranger bonus, it would be to make one of the Ranger's Pure Class Bonuses involve the Ranger's Animal Empathy skills or the Animal Companion feat.
The Ranger is able to Ally a wandering Animal, and the Animals level, strength and abilities become scaled depending on the Ranger's skill in Animal Empathy or the Ranger's level (if the Animal Empathy idea doesn't work).
When the Ranger decides to release the animal into the wild or find a different one, the previously controlled Animal dissapears so to prevent any wandering level 40 animals in the wild. (Also to prevent the ranger from just killing the companions for XP.)
