Chanter's Shroud and other unused items

Those numbers came from a combo of; old earth gen ac, cleric buffs, the old bardsong, and creative scroll and item use, i could actually pump it to 74ab if needed for a short time. My new bard/rdd will be fairly close to Doff, if not better since the RDD makes up for some of the losses due to nerfs.

well, bards need 16 CHA somehow, (you can get by with 14 but 16 helps a lot for all spells) and to min/max you want to take a +2 cha race if possible (or lol -2 in the case of my build above had to read a cha book to fix that), put your main points into either DEX or STR. Bards are VERY versatile - they combine well with nearly every PRC (except of course RK's where it isn't even possible - yes i'm sad and bitter about that) PM, RDD, CoT, BG, [censored], SD, WM, AA, PdK, even makes a nasty HS, or you can go pure like the devs want you to and benefit from crazy boosts. Also take extend spell, curse song and lasting inspiration, i find the hardest part of bards is getting the right set of mid lvl spells, there aren't enough slots to learn all the buffs you would like to have - just have to pick the best ones overall (and change them as you lvlup ie: GMW is useful only until lvl25 where you can use +5 weapons).

DEX based bards are a lot easier to play, STR is a big pain and with 1.69 even worse than pre'69 - but rewarding if you can handle the crazy micro-management...(yes it's worse than starcraft!) plus DEX is available as a bonus bard feat, so you can get some crazy high dex with a pure bard (or Bard/HS).

Sadly, I will likely only be building a single tLB bard (pure), since all my cross-classed bards builds only really shine with other races (so they'll be AO). Considering some gear that was added this year, I think the devs wants someone to make a medium armor wearing, spear-wielding pure bard, you might get a 'cookie' if you make one of those.

and since this thread is reopened...... so how about 'fixing' the chanters shroud?? -15 or -20% spell fail plz? thxbai!
