Be Thankful that there is soo much activity on this server now, year and a half ago, when both clusters where still working, there was lucky to be 5 or 6 people on between them, putting it all on server 1, which happened when server 2 crashed one spring evening was the best thing to ever happen to this server. Me and TBD was soo excited chaseing Nominus around for hours on end keeping him from pk'n new players and to have a server party of 15 people wasnt something we seen in along time.
You dont wanna go back to those day's, splitting the server may not have that effect right away, but in time it very well could.
I'm sure there thinking of a way to try and get more capacity
Have patience......

I am sure they are thinking of ways to add new capacity. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with us offering to help.
Your argument about a new server (non-clustered) potentially killing activity on this server is a non-sequiter as far as I'm concerned. I would wager a guess that there's well over 300 toons stored in the database belonging to about 60 different users. Users have gotten toons up to lvl 30+ and built a new one. Either to try a different combo, refine their current build, or just looking for a new challenge.
That is a lot of time and effort devoted to their toons on this server. I think that most would be loathe to have to start over completely from scratch again. However, new players who come to this world when they can actually get in would probably love to be able to build toons in a world where the power structure isn't already more or less completely set.

that is so redundant it makess me want to vommitSquikker2001 wrote:How about a queing server with a low max number of players, say 10. Instead of connecting directly to NS4, you connect to the queing server, and are given a place in line, and when a spot on the main server opens up, you are automatically ported there, and play as normal.

2300 players in the past couple of months? That's just plain scary.

And here I was worried about not being conservative enough about my guesstimate. Would seem to make worries of a second server killing traffic on this one about as overblown as my guess was short of the mark.Flailer wrote:Actually about 6300 chars created by about 2300 different accounts.
