There are 2 things i would like to add as my opinion.

1: First thing is when someone has the flag and hides around, but maybe they had no choice like yesterday at ns, in the meantime they had like 10 ns chars defending and only 2 or 3 sl members trying to get em back and the worst part was when jain hid with one and logged purposly to hide it from us. Maybe hiding a while and waiting for the moment i can see but not logging to leave the relic somewhere not to be found.

2; The other thing is when sl has the cradle all the time, and i do agree we have it too much maybe (greedy little buggers :)). So my suggestion would be putting a time limit on how long a faction holds a relic. Maybe have a timer of like 24 or 48 hours or something.

Would be nice for someone elses opinions on this.

i like the timer idea. it should prbly be as maxed as a day. if no one decides to raid the faction with "all relics" within 1 day real time, then on the 25th hour (real time), the relics will be returned to all their homes. A nice story would probly say "The God's have relinquished what is truly theirs", or something.

Zing, i also like idea of carrying a flag and having an xp bonus while having it. But i think there should be a tradeoff. While one is carrying (for xping purposes), he should also have some perma-skill reduction (unless he drops the flag). Reduction in essential skills such as hide,ms for rogue-types; concentration, spellcraft for caster-types; concen-dis for figther types. etc. at least that would make leveling easier :)

i agree with frum; the menzo shadow legion door should have a work-around. I noticed that all raiders barely come from the front door anymore. They ALL go through the hidden legion tunnel. Perhaps make the tunnel easy to open from the inside and difficult to open from the outside? (but that's subject to exploit if someone logs in a SL char to open it). Deathdearler's idea could also work, raise the dc of the door to a moderately high level (so only rogue-types can unlock it easily and other types have harder time opening it) or only SL characters can open it (by playing a job that would grant him a key)

Comments? :D

The relic diviners will tell you where the Relic was dropped if someone logs out with it.

A quick note about diviners.
They give you a useful answer 70% of the time so just because they're not helpful occasionally doesn't mean they don't know where the relic is. There seems to be some confusion about something to do with Transistions. Diviners always know the answer they just don't always give it. They have 5 locations. Learn them and you'll track them down with little effort.

ahh just 4? Thanks for the tip :D

i think there should be like "Pillars of Wisdom" built so that a player can ask where a relic is in particular. He'd talk to the pillar and it will offer the pillar 7 factions to choose from. If I chose ragnar's kin, the pillar will tell me the exact map of the relic. of course, the pillar should probly charge the player 30k or 50k per question. Expensive, but useful :D

also, the 'pillar concept' is also open to other quests in the future, etc.

I think it would be good to have the relics revert to their home cradles on a reset. That way, it'll prevent the really strong factions from sitting on all or nearly all of the relics all the time, and make them work a bit harder for that XP bonus.

I don't have a problem with the hidden Menzo doors. Both NS City and Sleeth have those ferries which make for quick raids into the cities, and Garagoth and Daeron have nearby ferries as well which cut down travel time. I think it evens out. And I've seen you Menzo guys guard the tunnel and the cave when you're on in force. It's not that weak a point, especially given that there's several choke points through the secret door and outside the temple you can use to your advantage.

As for the matter of ferries, I know the DMs have frowned upon using the ferries to get a relic back home. And I agree with this, because using the ferries give a big advantage to factions that have easy access to them. How about coding it so if you try to take a relic by ferry, you lose it? Have a server shout, "The Relic of <faction> has fallen into the sea." or something, and then randomly teleport it somewhere in the game?

Ah, so there must have been a slight tweak to it already. Still, it would be fun to have a relic lost by trying to take a shortcut.
