Shifters...shapes/powers
Any player that has valid feedback for their shifter/shapeshifting should post it here. give vital info on stats, gear, lvls, mobs your fighting.
be warned, you come here crying without staying on topic and i'll delete your post....and maybe you. this is your opproturnity to help fix the class that needs the most rework.

Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
I noticed that when I shift I lose dex, wis and skill bonuses I got from jobs.
I am 24 druid/11 shifter. In undead shape I can hardly hit Elite Dwarven Guard (female with warhammer). Also I get knockdowned a lot by the Greataxe dwarf elites. Survival is great if I guess the mobs I will encounter. I had slash and pierce on and axe and rapier users did no damage to me. On the other hand, once I meet warhammer mob I was in trouble. But would be OK if I could hit her. But my ab is only 45 buffed. I have lvl 30+ equipment on me.
Tried Skara too. Claric almost killed me with searing light. Survived because of race SR. Survival is great if wearing slash/pierce combo. Killing speed is super slow though, at least compared to my lvl 27 pure fighter.
Pretty much, what I noticed is that survival isn't bad if casters aren't around and if you know what kind of melee damage you can expect. Very prone to knockdown. I think that should really be looked at. At lvl 35. Under 60 discipline is on the low side when you consider we aren't protected with high AC and epic dodge.

Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
We're going to run shifters starting tonight through the weekend. Look at a few different variations, see where they are lacking at different levels. Looking for volunteers. (We'll try to run mostly druid/shifter, druid/shifter/monk-bard-fighter and druid/mostly shifter.)
Here's what I'm thinking now:
- Of all the shifter class acquired shapes (excluding epic feats and wyrmlings) one physical stat will be replaced, you keep your other two. We'll think of static bonuses like feats/immunities for each shape.
- We'll add an improved tier to wildshape 4 (Ith, Tiger, whatever). Maybe shifter 20 or so. I want to see if we can keep things useful with just one upgrade per form, there's a lot of them after all.
- I took off a lot of the acquired spell abilities. Those will need specific support and we'll come up with fitting ones.

Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
I'll be happy to help test. Have a lot of experience with shifters of all sorts. Would also like to take some notes in order to update Wiki at some time.

I will be happy to help test Druid/Shifters
. Are the volunteers going to need to make new toons for the testing? I would be happy to make a new one that the staff could delete after the testing is complete.

Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
Gargoyle gets stoneskin sorta per the spell: dr per stoneskin, limit 40 + 5 x your level, won't drop to dispel, probably will to breach. Harpy gets a heal a little on your allies hurt a little enemies with sonic damage (shifter level or something like that) AoE that is ineffective on deafened or silenced creatures.

I have a mid-level shifter (11 druid / 14 shifter). I would be happy to help you through playtesting. The toon's name is Shadow Weave (TSS), and my account name is alasteir.

Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
I'll look for you, and thanks for the info you PM'd.
Need to think about which weapons the shapes should have. Scraping the bottom of the barrel for finessable stuff for the dexxies. Probably want to move halberd up to wildshape 4. Fit a few bludge weapons in to the general shifter shapes.
I'd prefer stuff that isn't on the druid/shifter weapon list.

Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
cheesed out shifter/monk i can get 60-70ac in most base forms. no ab above 50. this is all self buffed and using patch work gear.
most forms have ab in the 30-40 range though.

Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
Before we do the testing. Can you tell me if shape strenght depends on shifter lvl and if yes, in which way? Except lvl 17 shifter for epic humanoid shape.

Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
the forms are going to be tiered into groups based on shifter lvl. the more shifter lvls you have the more tiers your base shapes will get. my shapes are at the tier 2 point, but with the heavy amount of monk lvls i took..thats about all i can swing.
Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
When it's done...I'm pretty busy today.
I'll try to get the shifter level 20 wildshape 4 stuff in. That's as far as it'll go, that leaves 15 levels for twinking with whatever TC class you can throw on. Of course that still disqualifies you from any of the epic feat category shapes.
I'll also see about switching the dire tiger and the lower level shape with the halberd weapons.

Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
Would it be possible to post some info when you're done with all the non epic feat shapes for example, compareable to the table that was posted earlier?
This means people have a bit of an idea what changed and dont have to lvl up a shifter just to see what changed and to gather info and then decide if a shifter is nice to play, and only then make the shifter and build they want to make?
I think this would help make sure people keep playing shifters, with all the bad publicity lately its a bit of a risk to start a shifter and lvl it up when you have no idea what kind of char you will end up with. Plus it means the people that dont play shifter arent fighting blind and have no idea what they're up against. Which hopefully also means less complaining about shifters being too strong.
I understand listing all changes in changelog would be a bit much and you dont always want to give all numbers and details away, but in this case it might be nice.

Re: Shifters...shapes/powers
shifters are only overpowered when they can't be killed..no one is complaining they are overpowered now
