Aside from healing your char, why not allow them to be used like fire or acid flasks?
Effect duration : 3-5 rounds (whatever is balanced in the devs/dm's eyes) rounds, regardless of what level of pot you used
Damage : positive energy, with the numbers as follows (and corresponding to the level of pot)
1d4 / 1d6 / 1d8 / 1d10 / 1d12
If its possible, to further balance things out, these effects wouldnt work on a weapon that already uses positive damage
