Monk Speed + Haste?

Was this modified? All of a sudden Monks who could not be hasted ARE hasted. Thought that was changed/eliminated?

Intentional or bug? Do I need to rethink my monk build?

it has always been so that up to 12 lvls of monk staks with haste.

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

it was based off a movment speed % increase to a set amount

Enforcing the speed limits on what abilities like the haste spell are supposed to do. Better than it was, I'll put feedback on it tomorrow.
Tested last night saw a 36 monk with near DM speed once hasted, not sure what was "enforced" because my 9 monk CoT gets no speed from NC bonus.

We're working on getting haste and other speed increase abilities fixed...

I'm lvl 39 tyvm and yes, with 29 monk and blinding I am the fastest mortal EVER! :twisted:

On the other hand, it is definately bugged... Entangle, grease, vine mine, and (i assume) web all dispel your monk speed (while ignoring my SR... as per the melencia city NPCs that cause this now, but never before BUT these same spells cast by a PC that cannot beat my SR will not effect me). You retain your blinding/haste, but base movement is reduced to normal (which leaves you at normal haste speed with the buff icon up). Once the bs/haste wears off, you are left at normal non-monk speed. Resting will reset you back to normal.

Monk + haste = increased speed
Monk + haste = increased speed, but activate blinding while haste is still active and you actually lose about 10% speed

I am more than willing to help test with Laufer @ lvl 39 (29 monk 5 sd 5 fight).

Blah. Is it easier to fix monk bugs 1503-1510 or just rip them out?

I thought the other system was just fine.
monk -lvl14 stackable speed
+lvl15 blinding/haste adds +1 ac(2bs)/ab/reflex/attack

I agree... I can hardly drive the way it currently is implemented. When you click-N-run, especially with a heavy server load, you constantly get stopped in mid movement as you 'rubber-band' back to where the server says that you are at. Don't get me started on the SL tunnels, I think Laufer lost 2 int points from banging off the walls while driving :shock:

Although, if I was wishing upon a star, I would rather see a new and 'more correct' implementation of these abilities; so I like that it's being fiddled with :D

Oh, and I meant to start a topic on this 2 days ago when I first saw the change, but this one beat me to it, so I'm muscling in on the discussion!
