Cleric Death Domain.....
Ok just wondering why the death domain power is treated like a familliar and not like a summon.....
It is supposed to be like a pale master and like a BG summon to where it grows in levels with u and if u sacrifice your soul to this dark art it will be a crazy summon.
and on that note why is there no level 30 bg summon?????
i had a friend recently hit it and sure enough black devill is the highest u can attain.

Black devil is wicked good. My master lich is jelous of it's powers, it's spear, and it's ability to Knockdown epic dwarves regularly. I feel for Pure PM builds, It's gotta be hard to level to 40 when all you got to work with is your master lich. Then at 40.. your not leveling up anymore... Great now I got a super summon, what do to with it ... PvP?

Re: Cleric Death Domain.....
please answer to this too, i have asked many times about it, and noone has actually given me an answer...MasterYoda wrote:Ok just wondering why the death domain power is treated like a familliar and not like a summon.....
the DEATH cleric domain gives you the ability to summon a shadow, just like the palemasters do, it goes into the radial and shows up there, but when you try to summon this shadow, it gets treated like a familiar, and it poofs, i believe that this shadow should be activated once again... its supposed to level with the caster as it reads too...
please read the cleric death domain bonuses... it reads that you can get a shadow that levels with you...
*end hammering*
On the flip Note....there needs to be some incentive to take the remainder of your Blackguard lvl's to lvl30, and PM's arent all that helpless they have access to epic spells and other summons and tons of immunties and bonuses that the BG doesnt. Its nothing more than a fighter with a sneak and a mean summons. But if it ends at 22, whats the point of continueing to lvl up to 30?
I'm not saying give it a different summons but how about maybe alittle beefier version of the present Devil...or possibly make the duration it lasts alot longer...something to give incentive to continue the PrC and not just stop at lvl 22 to get the summons and lvl up your previous classes.

No...i didnt say give a summons like a PM summons...i said give some type of incentive, pump the present one or something its mean yes but its not nearly as mean as nor am i asking it to be as mean as the PM, just to give it some type of bump to give a reason to continue to lvl up as a BG, if you dont thats fine, there just wont be many BG's past 22.

Re: Cleric Death Domain.....
Can we please stay on topic ....... i would really like to know why the death domain cleric ability was taen away.MasterYoda wrote:Ok just wondering why the death domain power is treated like a familliar and not like a summon.....

The biggest thing i dont get is we are trying to stray from uber cheese power builds but the first time i try to build a good all around cleric Death/Healing Summoner i get screwed.
This is not a rant i am just wondering why it was never implemented.
thanks...

Hundreds of mobs on the server and cutting down on 1 summon on 1 character is going to make a tangible difference with server lag?
It's already apparent that summons use a totally different, less effective, AI than mobs, so I don't see how having an extra summon is going to cause any lag.
Heck, it's even been stated that summons don't count toward the party count cap.

That's sexy, otherwise, it's had a bonus for more than a year, too bad you find the domain unplayable (though Phantasmal Killer and Enervate are probably the worst spells on the domain's list).SRD wrote:Death Domain

You may use a death touch once per day. Your death touch is a supernatural ability that produces a death effect. You must succeed on a melee touch attack against a living creature (using the rules for touch spells). When you touch, roll 1d6 per cleric level you possess. If the total at least equals the creature’s current hit points, it dies (no save).
Ran out of will to live making summons, even though it's only 4 different ones in vanilla nwn. Thought about a leveler, but went with the top secret bonus which somehow made it top secretly into the wiki

ok im confuzed this is what death domain gets in NS4? if so when was it implimented? and how do i activate/ use it?
at first this sounded cool but then i got to thinking of its application in game .. this is practicly useless especaly in PvP lets take a level 30 cleric his touch will do 30d6 30 to 180 points of damage if he rolls lucky and gets max he MIGHT be able to kill a level 20 ftr class with it but virtualy nothing near his level tho heck even a mage around 30th has around 150 hp or more if multi classed. maybe add a DC based on level and make a sucessfull save take half damage? if not id rather have the pitiful summons to atleast do some damage or act as fodder

CLERICS in death domain are supposed to get a summon.....
not a fimiliar .....
not a animal companion.......
so you would only be able to use it one at a time
JUST LIKE THE SD SUMMON>.
i dont understand why this one is implemented and not the cleric summon.
still waiting for an answer.
thanks yoda~~
