Death during AFK

Not by PCs, but by mobs... I was happily soloing through one of the caves in IoD when I had to go afk a couple mins. I went back about 2 rooms that I had previously cleared and rested and sat in the middle. Came back with no probs, then a guildmate showed up briefly, so I chatted it up a couple mins, then had to run afk again. So I went to a farther corner this time, and rested (I even disappeared 1/2 into a wall). When I came back about 3 mins later, I was dead with a mimic golem standing over me.

1) WTF did he come from?

2) In the rounds it took to kill me, why didn't my toon ever auto-attack back? It would have easily destroyed that mimic golem.

Is this type of auto-attack something that can be adjusted? I'm sure I'm not the only one that this has happened to... and I'm all up for punishing us damn players, but this experience was just nonsense. Now I gotta spend 30k and get from FD back to IoD with a fighter token and only 7 other players to kill on along the way... what a waste of time. This one even comes close to being as much a waste of time as rolling HP on leveling.

Geez, you have the nerve to complain? I have something to tell you: logout and login if you want to be sure not to be killed... Ive respawned so many times lately that I'm almost back to lvl35 again. Just from exploring difficult terrain and raiding some greedy blockheads .
And you have to vent about having to journey all the way back and taking some penalty, boohaa... I understand that you have to vent, but your complain is a bit over the top...

The complaint is that I didn't auto-attack in response. It's just silly that a toon would stand there for 30 dmage a hit and not automatically return fire. With as much as I dodge enemies while invis in order to NOT accidentally attack them, and knowing that taunt causes an autoattack, it just seems like nonsense.

Why complain here? You stood there and let an enemy kill you... blame yourself.
