After watching things occur over the past week or so, I've noticed that people are having issues dealing with the non-combative aspects of Relic hunting, hiding, etc...

Since when has it become an exploit to hide a relic?

While we're on the topic of exploits ... am I mistaken, or isn't it against the Commandments to cast Entangle on a lowbie, rival faction, so that monsters in the area kill them, regardless if they have issued a KoS on all enemy players?

It seems to me that players have lost track of why Relics were put into place ... not to hoard them and power level you and/or others of your faction constantly... but to encourage PVP on the NS4 servers. Now, when it comes to Relic defending/capturing, etc ... it comes across to me, and alot of others I have spoken with, that Relic Games are more than just running back and forth between cities .. they are a way to establish war-like situations between the factions, which is how it is supposed to work out anyway.

Lets say, for instance, a President of a nation has a weapon that all the other countries in the world want. He knows that they exist, and that (lets say) they are all balanced pretty much evenly. He knows that any given time, a rival country could attempt to invade his country to steal that weapon. The battles can go both ways (defense or offense), but he really doesn't want to lose his weapon. He has a hiding spot, and he sticks it there, and low and behold, the attackers cannot find it. Would this be considered 'wrong' or 'exploiting the system' in the real world? Nah.

I know what everyone is going to say.. 'Neversummer isn't the real world.' Duh. But use common sense, people. If the Dev's and DM's didn't want people to drop, transfer, or hide the Relics, they wouldn't have let players drop them to begin with! As a matter of fact, I think hiding the Relics are actually ENCOURAGED!

Maybe taking the experience bonus away from the Relics would make a difference. Set everyone on a level playing field, but let the Relics stand as a trophy of honor, for defeating a rival faction's defenses and stealing their precious item, would make people simply play NS4 and enjoy the things that the game and module (including the ability to free PK, attack rival cities, including the rival NPC's, even if quest related have you seen another NWN server that has that capability?..) offer. Maybe, EVENTUALLY, the Gods could reward faction(s) for stealing the Relics the most.. maybe a list of 100 different items (no artifacts, included.. but gold, weapons, armor, accessories, pots of haste/heal), and let the players roll for their reward?

Bah humbug, plain and simple if ya too weak or don't know the mod well enough to hunt down the lost relic ya don't deserve the bonus to start with.
