Enemy of the Beast

I just started playing multiplayer and this is the first server that I have put time into. My character is a lvl 5 Druid of Melencia. Now here is the problem: at some point while in the enchanted forest, I got a message saying I am now an enemy of the beasts. There were two things that happened when that message flew on my screen. First, I had a cirtical failure with animal empathy (but this has happened before so I doubt this caused it). Second, a Nargawa Scout (not sure on the spelling) attacked me and I killed him. So I figure this was caused by me killing this scout. If that is true, what am I supposed to do when one attacks me? Kinda silly if I defend myself I get penalized. Anyone know the answer? Or know if I can reverse it? I like playing a druid but it is a lot less fun when I can't wander through a forest without getting attacked on sight by animals.

Niragawa are naturally hostile to everyone afaik, so i'd say kill them all you want. Did you kill the animal on the crit failure? That could've caused it. My ranger is hostile to all big animals now, and friendly to smaller ones(badgers, wolves, dogs, etc.) which is really annoying, and i'm not sure why the big ones were hostile to begin with.

Since you killed that animal and others in the area went hostile you got a few negative faction hits.

Just becuase an animal goes hostile doesnt mean kill it instantly.. move away or keep retrying the empathy and the faction hostility wears off.

Once you murder several there is no turning back.

That is extremely agitating. I had many critical failures earlier where I ended up killing the animal and figured it was okay since there were no visilbe repercussions. Can't say I want to play my druid anymore.

Btw. its enough if you cast web on somebody and you entangle three different NPCs in it. Now Avendell is hostile to me .
