I know elemental shields have been nerfed. Well, nothing to say about the nerf of offensive spells but I'd just notice that without the use elemental shields (because they actually doesn't help at all) the only defensive spells vs. fighters (of course high lvl fighters) is premonition (I don't mention epic warding cause the beta of NS is suited for up to lvl 20 chrs only). And premonition is just a "bonus of some HP", I underline the fact it doesn't help vs. abilities like KD, called shot or disarm.
So, if a fighter wants to kill a mage, he just have to get close to him and keep hitting him while he's KD, I don't say that's easy...but...
I'd say, no high lvl fighter should be able to hit an high lvl BUFFED caster without suffering a great pain in his [censored]. That is how things should works. Of course if the fighter has enough HP (healing pots) or good dmg reduction vs. elements then he can have a chance to overcome the mage defences.
I strongly encurage the DEVS to get elemental shields implementation back the way they work in bioware implementation or find a good alternative one.
One good thing of elemental shields is they are part of the few spells that increase their power with the lvl of the caster past lvl 20, and they become a very dangerous defensive tool for pure caster, and I believe the building of pure casters has already been penalized enough so far.
Perhaps, elemental shields could do an amount of dmg bound to the lvl of the caster in a non liner way, says:

ACID SHEATH: 1d6 + 20/10 lvl
for a lvl 19 wiz is 1d6+20
for a lvl 20 wiz is 1d6+40
for a lvl 40 wiz is 1d6+80

ELEMENTAL SHIELD: 1d6 + 10/10 lvl
for a lvl 19 wiz is 1d6+10
for a lvl 20 wiz is 1d6+20
for a lvl 40 wiz is 1d6+40

of course shields should stack. Finally I underline the fact a mage can always be dispelled by another caster or by reading from scrolls (spell breaches, mordekain disjunction)
Please, just take in consideration any implementation alternative to the one actually in use

If elemental sheilds don't effect archers, then sure :D

But anyway, called shot doesn't really do too much to mages. Reducing their ab is pretty pointless, and so it reducing their dex by 2. About the only thing worthwhile to do is to snare them constantly just so that you can overcome their haste.

The stacking isn't going to happen, but I agree that the damages should be raised.
I would put the spells at bio defaults + 25%, since there's no stacking.
Or raise the damage by 1.
Acid Sheath 1d6+3
Elemental Shield 1d6+2
Death Shield 1d6+2 (max +10)
LVL 69 LFGS!!!

I agree, since shields, most likely, will not be made to stack, a solution that seems effective to me is to increase the damage of a single shield beyond that of BioWare standard.
Those shields, save a familiar/summon, are a mage's primary line of defense. Once a fighter takes care of your summon, the AoO's you attract from spells means you're toast pretty quickly, at least in my experience.
