Don't mule...
I think we already had the 'banks for characters' discussion and we were told no way.

My vote's in for EITHER designated areas without the delete-on-no-characters script, OR allowing a limited number of weight-reducing containers on a character.
It's tough enough playing a low-strength (caster) character... well, maybe the right word would be tedious, taking into account the repeated trips back and forth to sell items when you're constantly heading out at 2/3 - 3/4 max weight. Last time around, it was possible to reduce that to maybe 1/2 max weight or better by moving less-often used items to a mule.
As long as muling items is possible by having another player remain in an area while you switch characters, is there really much point to making it difficult for a single player to do?

We are currently testing a new script to prevent broken spawns, apperently there is some sideeffects that hopefully will be ironed out quickly.

So that explains it. I was leaving some stuff for my wizard to id twice and it just disappeared on me. But then when I went back and dropped a small number of items and logged a different character they were still there. So maybe it has something to do with how many items are left, I don't know.
I know a lot of servers like to ban muling but I don't really see a problem with it if it's not overdone. I use a mule to store equipment for my characters, but I know some people have several mules on which they have whole arsenals of equipment. But otherwise, I don't see how using a mule is any different than a buddy giving you a nice pile of good equipment. Another way I've seen mules used is to store common equipment for guilds. The Brethren make use of mules like this, as we often store looted equipment to share with our members. And I like to keep a nice variety of stuff on the guild mules too, instead of having the same old equipment that everyone uses. There's a lot of interesting stuff out there that many players probably don't even know about.
