Heal and Harm I believe are supposed to reverse when cast on undead.
I
cast harm on my summons to get him back up to speed and little to no effect on hp's (didn't look at log) I cast heal incase it was switched on a summons and BANG right down to tiny hp's
This is Odd because HARM doesn't work as effective on the living as HEAL does on the undead.
I also tried casting raise dead on an undead monster to "slay" it and i got an error, you may not blah blah.... like when you try to raise a person who is not in your party
I'm really interested to know if I am doing something wrong, if this is opperating as expected or is in line for a fix (eventualy).
also a question, if Harm has been limited in damage, and my testing shows it is, then why isn't heal limited in it's healing also. I can cast 5 or 6 harms on am ice giant and one heal cancels all that work.
heal, harm, raise and undead

I have seen my cure serious wounds (only 5 level cleric) sometime do 42 and once only 1 damage to undeads. It looks like there is a chance that your cure spell is not doing much damage, maybe the undeads got a save against it or the damage depend on how well you hit it.
Need to find me some living creatures to test my cause serious wounds on and see if it is any different from the cure wounds damage to the undeads.

just to ber absolutely clear I am not talking about inflict and cure, this is heal and harm the real deal.Epistaxis wrote:I have seen my cure serious wounds (only 5 level cleric) sometime do 42 and once only 1 damage to undeads. Heal and Harm are both modified in NS4. It's been a while, but I know for sure that heal got hit with the nerf stick, even against undead. The reason it might have 'sploded your undead harder than Harm healed it (try saying that 5 times fast) has to do with the undead type inherent suceptibility to holy/divine energy. In most cases, you are better off casting a cure critical or an inflict critical, as these spells are, for the most part, not greatly modified for balance issues.
