meh....
suppose it happens 1/10 by chance still. So 3 times in a row, that's 1/1000. Not likely eh?
Well, if we've got 100 people playing a day, and the average time someone is PK'd is once per day(make your own numbers up), then you've really only got to wait a few days and something like this WILL happen to someone.
So the question then becomes, was it chance or not? If you think you've got something real, find a DM and a couple of players to test it with. I bet that you can get the DM to offset/refund and XP lost if it's done in the name of correcting a bug.
The second verse is that if it happens to you, it probably happens to everyone else equally too(it sure does happen to me). So while it doesn't feel fair at the time, it's being applied equally to everyone. It still bites when it happens, but hey...
cheers

The problem i believe is with bleeding. If you bleed to death, you lose xp. So on the off chance you get hit and knocked to -9, then instantly bleed -1 before you get hit again, you lose xp. This is a tactic some griefers will use given the opportunity. Get someone to bleeding then leave them for xp loss. If this is the issue is there a way to have the bleed script know if it was a PC or NPC that caused the person to be bleeding to death? Might solve some xp loss bugs.

Bleeding may be it.
I got smacked around a bit, bled 2 or 3 hp, then healed back to 2hp.
Was surrounded by enemies, so i bolted for a transition.
Got to otherside of trainsition and showed up dead.
Checked combat log, but nothing hit me between last +2 hp and transition.
Should have showed up with +2 but showed up dead and got a respawn penalty.

Yes, thats a well known bug I had to learn about from experience. If your cross a transition after regaining conciousness then you will die. I had a low-level soloing wizard who did that once, not fun. You're rejoicing one second because you/re lucky, and the next you're grieving over your death from a bug.
