I have a couple of questions about this.
I will use all examples as a pure sorc.
Ok if I have greater spell penetration it obviously gives me + 6 to my roll making it
40+6+d20
Now if I have epic focous in abu. How does that work?
Does it add 6 to my despell check or does it add 6 to what my sr would be?
Ie if my sr is 45 well say I went drow ... Would it effectivly give me 51 sr by adding to the dc needed to beat it.
Same with archane defenses aburation does that add to my sr ?
I was a little confused with this as I have never experimented with it.
Thanks
Yoda~~

Neither of those feats have anything to do with SR.
Epic Spell Focus gives your spells +6 DC, Arcane Defense gives you a +2 to saves vs other people's spells of a given type.
Spell Penetration --> Spell Resistance
Spell DC --> Saving Throw
So, in your case, Epic Spell Focus: Abjuration would give all your Abjuration spells +6 DC. Arcane Defense: Abjuration would give you +2 to saves vs. Abjuration spells.

My understanding is it adds to your roll to dispell someone, and has nothing to do with your SR directly nor having to overcome their SR. Dispell spells ignore SR and try and strip a magical buff after automatically lowering the SR.
For example, at 40th lev (all sorc), you try to dispell another 40th lev caster, you would have the following dispell checks:
Mord's:40(uncapped caster lev)+1d20 vs a DC of 40(target's caster level) + 11
GreaterDispell: 20(caster level up to 20 since it's capped) +1d20 vs DC = 40 + 11 (is impossible to dispell target caster)
Now with Epic spell Focus Abjuration, you get +6 added to those rolls:
Mord's: 40+6+1d20 vs DC=40+11
GD: 20+6+1d20 vs DC=40+11
Now if you had Arcane Defense in Abjuration, your Dispell DC would be increased by 2...or DC=40+11+2 in the above examples if you were the target of a dispell attempt.

Just to clarify - Mord's doesn't necessarily "dispel" in the truest sense, but it definitely does in the sense that it strips breachable protections. Any kind of magical armor, shield, elemental buffer, stoneskin, etc. can be removed with Mord's, including Greater Spell Mantle, Undeath's Eternal Foe, and Shapechange (it's the only spell that can breach those three protections).Cluster wrote:Mords on this server does not dispell. The best you can get is form greater dispell, 20.
Oh yes, Mord's dispells on this server...one must cast it at the target's feet however (not directly on the target). Furthermore, the memorized Mord's spell only target's 1 buff to dispell (it may be random) from this technique, whereas a Mord's scroll gets a dispell roll for every single buff on the target when cast at it's feet (I've gotten 18 rolls to dispell buffs using Mord's scrolls before...too bad the caster check is only 17 for the scroll).
Should the memorized mord's be able to get a roll for every buff on the target? Maybe this should be implemented for casters if Bigbies gets a workover...
