half elf subraces

Post by Death Dealer1 »

can we see sub races for half elves? like elf/orc, elf/gnome, elf/hafling, elf/dragon? anything besides standard elf/human mixes? cmon lets face it...elves are getting busy with everyone on the realm. elf/gobo?

p.s. elf/giant?
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

Does anyone ever take half elf? To me they seem to pretty much be the same as humans except you dont get the free feat.

they get half the bonuses of elves..and it is also why i suggest half elf subraces to add to the mystery of the server.

. o O (AND the extra skill point per lvl that humans get)

One reason to take half elf would be to have a good chance to avoid the ranger's Bane of Enemies... but how many lvl21+ rangers do you see? lost in a sea of mages and clerics.

lol, I think half-elves really need a boost. I think the best things half-elf has going for it are sleep immune and any favored class. Problem is I haven't seen used heavily (at all) on this server and if you want the favored class, you just take human and get an extra feat and skill points.

if other half breeds are added perhaps some that have favored class bard and sorc bard has no race that favors it and sorc has one thats a ecl 2

IE. half elf half nymph -1 wis +1 cha, +2 perform, maybe a greater immunity to charms and illusions? favord class bard

Half elf Half Gith -1cha +1wis favord class monk, maybe +2 ab on unarmed strike? or maybe +1 ab +1 nat ac

just some ideas

I am going to step in and save you here, nothing gets +/-1 its to easy to min max with bonuses on even points only... so we all know your talking about BONUS +1 beeing stat +2 :D of course you are

no actualy ment just +1 to a stat its not mutch but i figgure even with some bonous skill points or whatnot at most it would be a 1 ecl race if that. its just some ideas to flesh out the race a bit and give the bard a favored race. but hey what do i know im just some nutter with a cult ;P

Making it so that races that have sleep immune don't get blinded while resting could be a small but useful perk.

Actually half elf and humans are 90% of all my NwN characters. I hate Multiclass exp penaltys, even more I hate ECL's I rarly make an ECL character on NS4. Too much of a hassle and the pluses don't outweight the negatives. Especially drow.. ew

Well, I do know of 1 level 21 ranger out there....

But yeah, that's because all a ranger got going for him is Bane of Enemies, and some pretty good stealth boosting capabilities. But other wise, a ranger using his full abilities is just another Dex character, and they are very weak here.

Half-elf could avoid Bane of Enemies, but that's assuming a ranger specialized in PC races in the first place. Best choices right now for Bane are Giant, Half-orc, Outsider, and Dwarf. Maybe elemental too. That's what a ranger will be fighting on the upper levels at least in terms of mobs.

sorry to break it to you... but there are no multiclass xp penalties on NS4

the only thing that favored class counts twoard is seeing if you get 10% of xp towards your next lvl after lvl up

half elf subraces would be nice to pick up on those other classes that don't have a standing. bard, sorc, maybe even a PrC.

throst...xp penalties are in. a person i know is making an elf ranger/bard/AA. when he get the double classes his xp dropped almost 100xp from gargoyles at lvl 4...so yeah, they are there.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.
