If its an attack roll, do bigbys get auto-hits on 20?

it was from a scroll..which means it doesn't get all the fancy add ons. trust me i been shooting out my worthless bull rush ones for fun, since they only get a 20+d20 attack roll against ac and everything i shoot at has higher ac.

however i made a concentration check, discipline i believe, and beat it with a str check. things were moving really fast and i thought it was odd to make 3 different checks to get free..but oh well, Boney came to my rescue.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

The thing is you have to look at the average player character, take an average character with average ac,average strength of about 30 and maxed out discipline items etc,i cant succeed the save at all, maybe my discipline check isnt rolling ? is it suppose to,cause it didnt seem to.

I can tell you one thing, the character i used has discipline pretty much maxed as it can go,and strength. plus he can buff,a fighter type has no chance.

Im not saying nerf it or whatever, just giving general chat and feedback, but most character ac will only be about 60 who is strength based, some can reach higher but not all.Maybe just limit the lvl 9 bigby stun to 1 round ,this way ppl have a chance to dismiss it,i got nailed for a very long time each time, enuff time for horrid wilting to kill me,which only did 50 damage each.my health is close to 600 and thats only 100 damage per round, and i was stunned the whole time with no possible chance of a save.

Level 9 bigby's only stuns for 1 round if you fail the save. You must have failed multiple rounds of saves.

true joran, but if your failing multiple rounds of saves and dying of a spell that's not doing max damage....i think some of the checks for bigby might be a little on the high end. however i haven't had enough time to test some of this on any of my chars except for when i PvP for fun and i'm pretty crazy in that.

My point was that if your AC is higher than 75, which DD1s should have, the hand should not have even grabbed him (assuming level 6, 8 or 9).

As for checks below this, Phiestra and I will do some systematic and intricate testing to see how things are working (scrolls and spells). The 20 roll for an auto hit was a question we also had and will answer. He had a lower level PM with a 69 AC get hit with the level 9 bigby, so we were thinking something was up. Now, I know that 69 AC does not mean immunity, but NO ONE should have a 75 attack on that thing (that's just the max possible).

Remember that being flatfooted will result in a lower AC than what you see on your character sheet. If all things are working properly, any time you lose your dodge bonus to AC, that will be taken into account when the hand strikes, at least on its initial attack.

And if the hand stuns you one round, does it get a bonus to hit you next round because you're a stunned target?
