Log in error

When I try to log into NS4, I keep getting a time out error. It's wierd, as I can log into other servers with no problems. And the server only has 36 people on it. What's causing this?

Try connecting directly to IP address 70.191.163.120:6001

Edit by Zing port 60001 to 6001

Maybe the port change is a way to force people to get on the web site an GET A CLUE before logging on! (instead of coming on and shouting 50 times that they want some crappy lvl9 weapon, or ask which faction they should join or the inevitable 'Is this a player kill server?')

The same thing has been happening to me and there seems to be no resolution. I've tried all the IP and port number combinations and that isn't the problem from here... even a connection through Gamespy doesn't work.

I don't know if it is my ISP not refreshing the DNS lately or what... I'm not a network guy.

.....all this panicking about a new ip w/ login issues ...i never had any problem, nor did i notice until someone said somthing on shout

I too have this problem

I can join every world in gamespy including Any NS 3 world but NS 4.

Only thing i haven't tried is pulling the plug on my Router to see if the Fire wall is affecting this World for some reason.

I've been having the same problem, i don't think it's the ip change though because mine stopped working about a week or so after the ip address change. one day it worked, the next day i couldn't log into the ns4 server anymore

still haven't found a fix either.

I'm not sure Why. But my Router fire wall is Preventing my linking to NS 4.

When I pulled the router and connected direct to my one computer the gamespy network would let me on.

I just installed a wireless router and started having the exact same problems as ya'll describe. Simply do as DM Yonwe said, direct connect and be sure to include new port number. No problems at all after following his instructions!

Yep, changing the port number fixed it. it looks like gamespy has cached the old server port, so when you log on via pw action, it doesn't let you connect.

Added some gamespy ports to the router. maybe that will help or gamespy will eventually catch up.

Awesome figured out all on my own that when you direct connect to port 6001 it's not the same as 60001 woot...I can log in now....

Well I cant log in to :60001 as it states that the server is already full. I am unable to connect in any fassion to the server. this is silly.

The full message is just the server being full... no way around that, unfortunately.
