If I'm out hunting somewhere and I need to start chugging potions, I go somewhere else. I really can't afford to buy potions because I need the gold for arrows, dragons, and ferry rides.
Arrows! omg i forgot about arrows. If you play an archer, prepare to have no gold at any time heh. The heal set back just makes it worse, specially since mobs wont like you cause you are the one hitting 100% of the time.

I vote to Repel the change -unless- it can be scripted to regenerate the heal penalty in real time without resting somehow, then i think it would be fine. It has already been said that this was not aimed at PMs, aimed for realistic effects. But I will only like it...if I can stop and 'pee' once I've chugged too much.

I agree with this. Though you may only use potions occasionally, It's time consuming to have to contiually rest and rebuff everytime you do. Could it be made to reset after an hour or two?

I'm working on something time based now.

just be prepared...this kinda stuff is going in full effect eventually. we are just looking and experimenting with the best way to do it overall.

and sometimes little changes that tickle us get implemented and you never know about it ;)

Hmmm...maybe if I cry loud enough they'll give in and give me rogues...and maybe lazers, too...

I kinda liked this idea myself

Amoenotep
just be glad they didn't go with my idea...hardcore potion rules, you start chugging potions and something bad starts to happen...that leads eventually to instant death.
So I vote that it stays

healing

Post by Rummybum »

Well I'm not happy with it. the reason is simple it isn't reducing gradually or at least not always. My second cure critical potion healed me a huge 60 hp That's also a whole lot less than 65% of max. So.. I'm not too thrilled. They aren't even worth taking in a tough spot pvm.
Vastly confused

If it can't be scripted to reliably regenerate over time, scrap it.

Not sure if it's wise to make a major change to fix a minor problem. Crit immune is supposed to make a character very difficult to kill via melee. [edit - nvm... not supposed to be a PM fix]

first very brief impressions of the new style with cooldown ... much better and managable i think this is the best version so far but i only had 1/2 hour testing it out.

I think what he means is that it heals 60% of the dice roll you make. A cure critical does not do max healing every time, it is random.

This is a fix that was a long time in the making and a necessary for pvp. Yes it may hurt you if you solo and yes it is expensive.

[My post was edited for it's utter lack of respect for those that have worked on this system, as well for not using enough thought to come up with a suitable argument on why you don't like the system!]

Aw, and there I was thinking the lack of replies after the last change meant people were happier.

Incidentally I'm interested to hear if people that were for or against before have changed their minds since the latest version was put in.

Its not bad. You can still die VERY easily if you're overwhelmed, which often happens.

If this is going to stay, pot prices should come down, though.
