Simply put - because those development tasks are entirely different skillsets.

With the remaining folks working on NS4, there is a subset working on areas, items and creatures and then another subset working on scripting tasks. They're entirely separate development tasks.

But, since you're a project manager, you probably already knew that.

so that means the job is mine then, great lets get together and talk about who we have with what skills and go from there. a list of current tasks would also help.

i know nothing about deving' that isnt needed for the job. i manage people, and i do it well.

Have to agree with her on her management skillz.

She's the leader of kst, and look how they're thriving.

Don't make the bunny think it's hostile or she will lock it up :)

But seriously, sure some things over the past were not done in the most "ideal" set of order, but I don't think we can persecute them or say "Hey I think in NS5 we need to not make the same mistakes".

SL Jobs I did not see as that important for now they are dead, and before they were thriving to the point we all powerlevelled with each other anyway so it did not matter. There is the truth, I remember one of you guys upstairs saying to Nemesis and me while we were stoning with our epic mages the efreet, and then logging on lowbies to clear them out  "You wonder why we don't do things for you guys"

It rings true, and is rather logical.

I think the Dev/DM team are doing a great job and are fine as they are.

And this is my oppinion and I manage my own company  Means nothing in reality to this game, and it shouldn't.

Keep up the work guys.

Hahaha I remember doing that! Bazz'ezz the Wanker and Celor'Duath (Sightbringer) were really helpful at that. :) I'm sure SL jobs would bring at least some life to SL... there's going to be people who wanna try out the goods.

I agree it is regrettable that AO and SL at this stage do not have jobs. The jobs do attract newbies to those factions regardless of who has the relic superiority as there is still an element of the player base who like to role-play their characters to an extent.

What must be remembered is the work the devs do. I have admiration for their continuing dedication. Could things have been done better in the past? Of course, but hey we're all human (in RL) or I suspect we are!

Bagging devs or the way they project manage their time is not helpful. I do however recommend some sort of go-between who becomes the dev-sponsor on the boards (is that Binkyuk??). It is obvious Flailer, Zing and others are occupied with both NS5 and NS4 projects.

I can sense some frustration with the player base and that is more a communication issue rather than the devs actually being perceived by some as "they dont care", "players are whiners". Personally I don't see them that way.

I have had occasion to send a PM with ideas and for the most part have been listened to. We can't expect to be rubbing shoulders and part of the inner circle all of the time as it would just not work and make module creation, implementation and changes clunky and slower than the "soon" response we have all come to love.

So relax and enjoy the updates and changes. Of course if your not happy with don't have a dummy-spit on the boards by posting a vitriolic diatribe about how unfairly you (ie your characters) have been treated.

This server is the best by a country mile. More contributions by the players is what is required and desired. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

And in closing, a message to all sides - Respectful communication above all is the key to the continuing success of this great PW.

AO should be the last to get jobs IMO.... they have the best class/alignment/race setup of any faction (IMO)... no Paladins, but RDDs are even better in many cases... and they have allies unlike LA.

Heh yeah Bazz, and I with my mage Elghinn xD I think it was TGPO actually who spawned down on us and umm in no uncertain terms told us to stop >.>

But yeah it will all happen in time.

Just my opinion but, SL and AO should get jobs before anything else is implemented ie: planes.

i'm pretty sure we might be able to do more than 1 thing at a time...some aspects of updates (jobs) take up a lot of patience and suck up alot more time than other updates (areas, evil pms, potions).

thats why it looks like they aren't getting done while others are flying out. you can't even begin to understand the complexity jobs have to attain in order to not be broken on a mod as custom as this....oh if only we could just splice and paste :(

If I'm occupied with anything right now its something called life.
For the record, I have been focused only on NS4 and it will stay that way for a while yet.
