Hi all i was just thinking that its been a really long time since we have had a large staff orginized event. I know our staff is busy at work on ns5 or ns4 or RL, so i would be more than happy to run an event for everyone.
Just wanted to get some thoughts on this from our staff and maybe some ideas from the players. after all grinding out levels gets tiring if thats all your doing with your game time.
Events
Why don't you hold an event?
Stuff like...
1. Hold a "gauntlet"... where non-level 40 has to get through a small area that's heavily guarded by level 40s.
2. Reward someone with something if they're the first person to take a relic from X faction.
3. Challenge the server to find you and then kill you... with a reward.
4. Have a full on battle... two teams, one map... last team with someone alive wins.
5. Riddles...
While I can't speak for the DMs, I'm pretty sure some of them would cooperate and come up with rewards for stuff like this...

I would like to announce that tommorro night Sunday Aug 19th at 7pm pacific time, -8gmt
There will be the first Offical KST sponsored Soccer Match
The layout is simple:
teams of 3 or 4 or 5 "depending on turnout" shall create level 1 characters all from LA faction. I use LA because it has no class specific rules and no job bonus's at level 1 worth a damn.
Make whatever toons you like wether it be fighters or mages or clerics or monks. Bring them to Terrace Mettle accessable from the City of Avendale.
Each team will have a goalie. Each goalie will have a relic style item which drops upon death. The idea is to kill the other teams goalie grab the "relic" and bring the relic back to your teams goal box. The first team to do this wins the round. All matches will be UNARMED and NAKED! be aware of that.
Notice: Jean the Unforgiving of =kSt= will be your ref. have any issues in game take it up with her. She will also be the offical score keeper.
It will be a set of kill the goalie games. It will be an elimination style tourney..."also dependent on turnout".
IF your team wins you stay on the field to face another team.
if your team looses you leave and wait in line for another shot.
Games should go fast probley lasting 5 mins each if everyone hustles.
At 9pm Pacific or 2 hours after the start of the tourney the teams in order of round wins shall win the prizes as follows:
First place- 100,000 gold and 10 res scrolls for each member of the team
Second place-50,000 gold and 5 heal pots for each member of the team
Third place- 25,000 gold and 10 restore pot for each member of the team
A special prize will be awared to the player with the most goalie kills-
A +4 Tome of *****
Please declare your intention with your teams here for the event is coming up soon!
If there are less than 9 people who wish to participate the event will be pushed to another day. I dont give away tomes for free.

ok so first thing i want to say is thank you so much to all american for his work during this chaotic event. you were awsome, had me rolling with laughter over some of the stuff.
i would also like to say thankyou to some of the dm-players that came out to get numbers up.
most of all thanks to everyone who was involved and lets do this again.
i think i learned alot from this event, as far as what is actualy involved and how much communication one needs to have between players,staff ect.
I ran into some of the winner in ave and NS after the event to give them their prizes. I am still looking for Arilla, psychokiller, chubs, whitey. you have yet to claim your prize. with as much chaos as we had and a tie for 1st to boot i decided to just split the prizes. so all of you have 5 heal's 5 restores and 5 raises waiting for you. please send a tell to jean anytime and she will get those to you.

I just got fed up with logging on to a full server and only getting 3 people who wanted to play.
This only had to happen a few times before I gave up offering to run them. Why waste my time?

I just wanted to say hats off to you mgrjebbo for holding the event. I held an arena event not to long ago on Reflections, and I know how hard it is to get people to participate. I heard a few complaints on shout, but I hope that does not deter you in any fashion. That was poor form on their part. I only wish I could have participated, but I knew my lack of time that evening so I could not.
