Shapeshifting not allowed anymore in raids?

Apparently Chase banned shapeshifting from raids, attacking and defending of course. Could we have an official ruling to this rumour? At least The Circle would be very interested in this, for obvious reasons.

I vote we Ban Chase from relic raiding and any dealings therin.

I was there when Chase made his shout about a shifter getting pk'd in defence and the server crashing. A frustrated raider put up a shout and made it sound like the defending shifters were "always" shifting during combat as an exploit to cause an intentional crash, "All the time".

That's when DM_Chase put over shout "if I see anyone shifting during a raid I'll ban them". Or something to that effect.

I am sure that it was not meant as a rule that "shifters" can't raid or defend. If it were, specialized shifters would become a mute class. I believe the intent of the shout was that if someone who has the ability to shift and does so as they are getting pk'd, as a deliberate means to crash the server, is doing so as an exploit and therefore will be banned.

Look at the classes who can exploit shifting during PvP. Part druids, wizards, sorcerers, and any class with Use Magic Device, Rogues, Bards, AA's, etc. With a simple flick of a spell or scroll as your Hp is dropping it's very simple to cause a crash as an exploit.

Yes, I believe so. I've seen a ranger crash the server once, when it was polymorphed.

Shifters should be banned from ALL raiding and defending until/if ever the shifter bug is fixed. It is a known exploit and has been used as a last ditch effort to thwart off an attack. It does not mean everyone attempts such cheesy maneuvers, but it has been done and therefore effects everyone. The bug has been a major issue for a long time. We have heard arguments to get rid of shifters all together or at least fix the bug. Many on the server has some form of horror story about a shifter crash. To me, that should be high up there on the priority list of "to fix." Unfortunately shifters will probably have to suffer until something is done one way or the other about the problem.

I think banning the use of shifters is a little OTT. Though if you play a shifter of any sort be aware of the risks u take 2 the whole server. DO NOT shift in battle. If yer in a losing battle against or with a shifter and the shifter is gonna bite it just back off a bit and let the shifter heal enough to shift back and the shifter will take an honourable death. Relics are not that important that U should be crashing the server for any reason. Anyone caught intentionally using exploit should be banned or have the character deleted. I like the latter punishment . We all make mistakes but the key is to learn from them. Just be smart it's only a game and cryers really put a downer on the fun.
