No. The first "fix" to disarm was crippling because a disarmed character could immediatly re-equip a weapon so they were disabled less then a full round if they knew it was coming and was prepared. The way it is know even if the weapon always dropped into inventory the disarmed character can not re-equip the same weapon in combat therefore it is just as disabling for them as if it dropped to the ground.
